To start, we were very much looking forward to our stay here. However, when we arrived around 4:30 pm or so for check-in, there was no record of my name or my reservation even though it was confirmed on Airbnb. After a long search for our reservation by the very friendly host at Tailor Shop Hotel (not Gary), we decided to explore downtown while the issue was figured out. By the time we returned, we were notified that there had been a mistake and there was no room for us. Instead, a reservation had been made for us at a motel. This motel is ranked #24 out of 24 listings in Charlottetown on Tripadvisor and is a 15 minute drive away from downtown (location was one of the main reasons we chose this place). Gary did not initiate contact with us during this process and we were not offered alternative options or a refund instead. As the establishment enforces a strict cancellation policy, it would seem fair that the reverse should hold true. I would not return here.

Perfect for a night's stay during our trip! Location couldn't be better and the room was lovely!

Well, to begin with, we never actually met the Gary. The woman at reception was friendly enough. Check in was smooth, however, the room was much smaller than the pictures and description. There was actually a plastic sheet on the bed, have not needed one of those since I was 2! On our second night, the gentlemen at reception came knocking at our door at 10pm to inform us that we were supposed to be checked out. In fact we were apparently put in the wrong room and were asked to move rooms in the middle of the night. There are several other inns in the neighbourhood, and we will stay at one of them in the future.

Good location. Three restaurants on the same block. Quaint accommodations with a mix of traditional and eighties decor. Bed was a bit saggy but the jetted tub was nice.

Unlike most "vintage" hotels, which often feature appealing entrances and public spaces but rooms that are a step down from your first impression, the Tailor Shop's lobby does make a great first impression but the room turned out to be fine: reasonably spacious as well as clean and comfortable. Evan was very helpful with information about Charlottetown.

I am very glad I chose this place to stay over a big chain hotel - the room we got was a very nice size, and the washroom was huge! Honestly, could fit 4 people easy in that tub. It's a nice quaint hotel, that fit out every need. If you're thinking of a place in Charlottetown, pick Tailor Shop Hotel!

I am married to Shelley MacDougall and have 2 kids. I operate a few businesses but value my time with family the most. I like to travel, read, go to movies spend time at the cottage with family and friends. My latest interests are life hacking and as always working out, computers and gaming. My travel style is to stay in mid to upper style accomodations but finding a great price via internet research.
Life motto is to never stop learning.
