Interaction with Guests
I manage this property for Ben, and I live in the main part of the house, but rarely see guests. I want to communicate with you online to set things up and then you'll be able to access the key through a coded lockbox; I change the code after each stay.
You're situated in one of the best neighborhoods in San Francisco for nightlife and access to the city. There's a fabulous park up the hill roughly a 10-minute walk from the front door. From there you get views of the Golden gate Bridge as well as the Bay Bridge and the entire Silicon Valley Peninsula -- wave to (website hidden), Netflix, and Intel! It's really wonderful at first light or at sunset. To get there simply keep walking uphill and look for staircases in between some of the houses that lead up to the next block. It's also a great area to walk dogs so you'll see lots of neighbors out.
Mission Street is the main street below the house where you'll find dozens of restaurants including tacos, burritos, Thai food, Chinese and some great higher-end places.
There are a number of buses that pick up at the corner of Mission and Fair immediately below the house. The 14 and 49 Muni Bus head along mission all the way downtown. If you walk 15 minutes up Mission Street, you reach the 24th St. BART station.
There are a half dozen zip car locations within a half-mile of the house. If you have a membership, it's a great deal at $7-$15 an hour including gas and insurance. Look them up for short term car rentals.
Enterprise rent a car has a facility at 13th and Mission and if you call ahead they will come pick you up for your rental free of charge. Use this for rentals over 24 hours.
Other Things to Note
Our garden is significantly cut back because of California's drought. We're very water aware here, and maintaining a few flowers did not seem like a wise choice. You still have access to the space, including the table and chairs in the yard, but it is not as pretty as it once was! Sorry about this!
The studio unit is a separate building from the main house, but please be aware that you share a wall with us. We expect guests to have fun, enjoy the space, and leave it as clean and maintained as they found it. Please no smoking in the unit or backyard. If you do smoke, do so in the driveway in the front of the unit.
We had great days at Patrick's place, everything was very easy to organise and Patrick very friendly - thank you for this, and any time again :-)!
Patrick's place is the perfect efficiency for when you just need somewhere to throw your stuff and enjoy the spoils of SF. A no frills oasis at the edge of the Mission. The garden wasn't in bloom when I was there, so I missed out on that splendor. The neighborhood is great. Definitely check out The Coffee Shop on Mission, plain green storefront, just pass Mi Tierra Coffee which is also good. The Coffee Shop is my fav. Patrick was very helpful and attentive. The place is just as it is described.
My time at Patrick's place was absolutely wonderful. The process of obtaining the keys is seamless and the location is fantastic. The apartment is located about a block from a major street (Mission) which features many restaurants and bars (most of which are open to 3am or later). The apartment is only a studio and I wouldn't really recommend having more than 1 person there. I slept comfortably but the few nights I had a guest it was a bit snug in there. The apartment features a bathroom, bed, mini fridge, shower and space heater. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone staying alone that would like to be near things to do!
Also- Patrick is great. I met him towards the latter part of the trip and he gave me advice on different places to go in the area!
This was my first airbnb experience and it was wonderful. The place was as-described and very nice. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Patrick was very easy to get in touch with and was very accommodating. You can get into all parts of the city from here by bus or car, and there's plenty to do in the immediate vacinity. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in San Francisco and recommend it to friends who are in the area.
There's also a really good coffee shop a few blocks up Mission St., it's a blank green storefront and it's just called The Coffee Shop, but it is so good.
Great space for a single traveler in San Francisco for a short stay...comfortable bed, small refrigerator, nice bathroom, and amazing water pressure in the shower...the studio is in a great location on the edge of the Mission District and very close to Bart to go elsewhere in the city. Patrick, the guy renting out the space was super nice and accommodating when needed but otherwise you never knew he was around...this was good...stay here!!
Perfect location, small room, small bed, small price. As described. Thanks Patrick, everything was clean and ready for our arrival.
Nice clean space, small but entirely functional. Having a space outside is a very nice perk.
