Interaction with Guests
I reside at this listing (and sometimes work from home), but I am available to talk to my guests when they are around.
Friendly, youthful, diverse, dog friendly, lovely neighborhood great little shops, cafés, restaurants and entertainment. This neighborhood is a great place to hang out and explore and not an outpost from which you must escape into Manhattan. It quintessential New York. In the immediate neighborhood are the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park, and the Barclays Center is in walking distance. The immediate neighborhood also features excellent restaurants, venues offering jazz, blues and indie rock. So stay in Brooklyn or run around Manhattan. Either way, you will have a great time.
Six subway lines and 3 bus lines in close proximity for quick rides into Manhattan or around Brooklyn. There is a subway stop on the block. Getting into Manhattan is very quick, only 4 stops to Bowling Green stop on the 4 or 5 trains (less than 20 minutes).
Travel to and from JFK by taxi is about 25 mins and $40-45. By public transportation it is about 1 to 1-1/2 hours depending on time of day and day of week.

Ivy is an amazing host with a perfect apartment! She was super accommodating, not only for my family that I had traveling with me but also for my late arrival. She is very friendly and makes you feel right at home. As for the apartment, it's a very spacious bedroom and is right off a giant balcony, which is great in the summer to get some fresh air (there's also A/C if you prefer). Very clean place, and an a great neighborhood. Couldn't have asked for anything more!
Ivy was amazing, she is adorable. She helped us with the metro, she was like our mom. The appartment was so nice so clean the room was excellent. If I go again to Ny I'll stay with her !!!!
Before you read the lengthy review, here are some points:
Where: The place is small and cozy in Brooklyn, 20-40 minutes away via Subway to key NYC destinations. The neighborhood is fine for walking midnight.
Who: Ivy is a great host. People looking to save some money on NYC hotels and cabs should consider this place because of it's connectivity with the Subway system.
Not for: People not accustomed to BnBs. This is not a hotel, you need to be considerate, it is someone's home, and you are being given a place.
There's a reason for all of the positive reviews for this listing.
Ivy is a very easy going person, and takes very good care of your stay.
She is obviously a very experienced as a host.
The place is small and cozy, what you would typically expect from a Brooklyn apartment. It is about 2 minutes walk from the Prospect Park subway station, and about a mile walk from 2 different Franklin Avenue stations that connect to the main Subway line that can take you to all key places in Manhattan. As our stay was focused on Manhattan, we took the Franklin Ave stations, and saved tons on Cab costs.
Ivy was generous enough to provide everything we needed for breakfast: Eggs, toast, milk, coffee, tea and juice!
Ivy's Dog Zhu Zhu is very well behaved (you can tell that I'm a dog lover, but my roommate who isn't was also comfortable).
I'm giving a 5-star rating because of my interaction with Ivy.
Me and my family had wonderful time at Ivy's place. Ivy and her dog ZhuZhu are very friendly. The place is like in the photo with lots of stuffs added. Its not far from the t station. So it was convenient for us to travel around. I recommend this place if you are visiting. Its very likely that I stay at hers on my next visit.
Sorry for the late review! Ivy was amazing! She made us tea which was very nice in a stressful apartment hunting weekend. The neighborhood is very chill with a shuttle to a big stop right across the street. Her place is clean and well kept and her dog is the cutest! Thank you so much!
Our host was very welcoming and pleasant. She made us feel at home. The neighborhood was great, with eating establishments nearby and also good bars. We thought from the description that we may have the apartment to ourselves. So having to share the apartment with the host was a surprise. Her dog was super friendly and cute.
Ivy was nothing but wonderful to us. Not only is she a very generous, helpful, and hospitable host, she is very interesting to talk to and fun to spend time with. The apartment is exceptionally clean; the guest room is just the right size and has the nicest vibes. Moreover, Ivy has a dog, the cutest puppy that you’ll end up wanting to take with you when it’s time to move out. We loved staying at Ivy’s and we can’t but highly recommend her awesome place for your stay.
