Everyone knows that Brooklyn is hot and nowhere in Brooklyn is hotter than the ProCro neighborhood which borders Prospect Heights and Crown Heights. This charming room in a early 20th century building is the perfect place to stay in NYC.
Comfortable and light-filled room perfect for one or two people. A third can sleep on an air mattress. Hardwood floors and high loft ceilings and private access to balcony.
Guests are welcome everywhere except host bedroom.
I reside at this listing and am at work most of the time, but I like to talk to my guests when they are around.
Friendly, youthful, diverse, dog friendly, great little shops, cafés, restaurants. Quintessential New York. Getting into Manhattan is very quick, only four stops to Wall Street (lower Manhattan) on the 4 or 5 trains.
Six subway lines and 3 bus lines in close proximity.
I have a 3 month old puppy named Zsu Zsu. She is very friendly and affectionate.🐶🐾

I loved staying with Ivy. She is a kind a lovely person. Her apartment is clean, bright, well lit and located near nice restaurants, hairdressers, laundromats, etc Her room is very large and comfortable.
More importantly, Ivy made me feel at home, shared coffee with me in the mornings, and left me the best cake I've had in a long time on the day I left.... Thanks Ivy!
Ivy is a great host, I had a terrific time staying with her ! Welcoming, reliable, easy-going, friendly, she is all you wish for a host. The room is clean, well furnished, and the private access to the balcony is appreciated, as well as the towel !
The neighborhood is calm, sage, and easy to access with the subway. Great diner not far ! Just next to the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park : a really convenient place to stay.
Ivy was an amazing host, she instantly made my wife and I feel welcome and at home. The location is very convenient as it is close to the subway and there are also some nice pubs/restaurants near by. Overall it was a great experience!
Staying in Ivy's apartment is great! Great (and safe!) neighbourhood, close to everything you need. And Ivy is the most friendly and helpful host I met so far.
The rent is a bit on the expensive side, but if you want to have no hassle and be sure your in a great place, it's worth it!
Ivy is an exceptionally wonderful host! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. She was incredibly sweet and welcoming for the duration of the time we share space with her. She lives in a lovely neighborhood in Brooklyn that was fun to explore (and Bombay Masala around the corner on Franklin has delicious Chicken Tikka Masala!). Thanks Ivy! :-D
ivy's room is definitely very clean and big enough. ivy is very nice and she really made me feel like staying at home. i had a school emergent email to view and i needed a laptop, ivy was very generous letting me borrow hers. highly recommend her! very sweet host!
Ivy is a great host! She gave me a welcome kit when I got there and she was always incredibly nice and helpful, she gave me directions when I needed them and always asked how my day was.
The apartment is cozy and the room is big, well-lit, and it has access to a balcony.
The neighborhood is very nice and the apartment has an ideal placement in regards to public transportation. You can take the shuttle (which is across the street) to get to the trains, but you can also walk there.
Ivy was actually nice to us. She helped us to in guiding how to go to different places using subway. But the place is little smaller than it is shown in the pictures. The bed is bad in the bedroom. It can fall down any minute with a little movement on the bed. The kitchen and the bathroom is not really as clean as it is shown in the pictures. I felt that the price is too high for a place like that.
Andy and I stayed at Ivy's lovely apartment in Brooklyn for 4 nights. The room was more than adequate in size for both of us, complete with private access to the balcony, which I assume would be very lovely to soak up the sun on warmer days. Her apartment is heated through out, and each morning we were able to make breakfast for ourselves (we are late risers but when Ivy was home she made the breakfast for us and wouldn't let us wash up!). On our last morning she made us some very delicious hot chocolate, which was a very nice send off indeed. Ivy was very hospitable and I think younger travelers, such as ourselves, as well as older travelers would enjoy their stay with her.
To divulge a little about Ivy personally, the day I arrived in Brooklyn I had come down with a cold. The 2 mornings Ivy made me breakfast she accompanied it with a glass of vitamin C to help me on my road back to health, and on the day I left she sent a few packets away with me. This was a very comforting gesture, which I thought was above and beyond what was required of a host.
Brooklyn is known for being an up and coming hipster scene, so mixed together with our accommodation in Manhattan, we got to experience 2 very different sides of New York.
Ivy's place is only a 2 minute walk to the shuttle train station, which was one stop to Franklin avenue train station (but her place is only about 3 blocks from Franklin avenue station if you aren't lazy like us and want to walk). From there you can get a train straight into manhattan within no longer than 10/15minutes.
Overall we had a super nice time and would contact Ivy if we were to come back to Brooklyn.
Gabbie & Andy.
New York, New York! Such a great city and an even better one when I stayed with the amazing Ivy at her place in Brooklyn. Not only is her place such a great apartment with a welcoming host, but it is also at a great location! If you choose to explore NYC the shuttle and subway is ashort walk away (and Ivy will let you know how to get there) or if you want to explore The neighbourhood there are so many cool places to see by even just walking down Prospect Pl toward 5th ave. I really enjoyed staying at Ivy's, the apartment was nice and really warm in the winter, Ivy always offered us tea or coffee and let us know little tips on getting around. She was very helpful & I really recommend staying at her place! Thanks Ivy!!
