Interaction with Guests
I reside at this listing (and sometimes work from home), but I am available to talk to my guests when they are around.
Friendly, youthful, diverse, dog friendly, lovely neighborhood great little shops, cafés, restaurants and entertainment. This neighborhood is a great place to hang out and explore and not an outpost from which you must escape into Manhattan. It quintessential New York. In the immediate neighborhood are the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park, and the Barclays Center is in walking distance. The immediate neighborhood also features excellent restaurants, venues offering jazz, blues and indie rock. So stay in Brooklyn or run around Manhattan. Either way, you will have a great time.
Six subway lines and 3 bus lines in close proximity for quick rides into Manhattan or around Brooklyn. There is a subway stop on the block. Getting into Manhattan is very quick, only 4 stops to Bowling Green stop on the 4 or 5 trains (less than 20 minutes).
Travel to and from JFK by taxi is about 25 mins and $40-45. By public transportation it is about 1 to 1-1/2 hours depending on time of day and day of week.

Sorry for the late review! Ivy was amazing! She made us tea which was very nice in a stressful apartment hunting weekend. The neighborhood is very chill with a shuttle to a big stop right across the street. Her place is clean and well kept and her dog is the cutest! Thank you so much!
Our host was very welcoming and pleasant. She made us feel at home. The neighborhood was great, with eating establishments nearby and also good bars. We thought from the description that we may have the apartment to ourselves. So having to share the apartment with the host was a surprise. Her dog was super friendly and cute.
Ivy was nothing but wonderful to us. Not only is she a very generous, helpful, and hospitable host, she is very interesting to talk to and fun to spend time with. The apartment is exceptionally clean; the guest room is just the right size and has the nicest vibes. Moreover, Ivy has a dog, the cutest puppy that you’ll end up wanting to take with you when it’s time to move out. We loved staying at Ivy’s and we can’t but highly recommend her awesome place for your stay.
Staying with Ivy was great. The room is just as shown on the photos and she is so friendly. Ivy helped us to find great places in nyc that we would have never find.
Her dog Zsuzsu is so cute.
If I ever go to nyc again I would stay with Ivy.
A great location, Ivy was a lovely host.
It should be noted Ivy has a large dog which we didn't know before we booked.
Thanks for your feedback Renae. I am not sure, however, about which part of "I have a dog" you missed...the profile picture, the indication under "special features" that "pets live on this property" with the 'dog' box checked off, or my written description of Zsu Zsu under "detailed description - other things to note". Zsu Zsu's presence is communicated in 3 distinct places. She is not a secret.
Ivy was a warm & welcoming host. Her dog ZsuZsu is both friendly and well behaved. The room was perfect for us and extremely convenient. We were very happy with the experience.
Ivy is a great host. The house its how is on the pictures. The room is spacious and the cupboard and the drawers were very handy. We were 3 in the room and had room to move. She had maps on the room which was good it was our first time in new York. The apartment was well located close to the station. Anytime we needed information Ivy was there to help us. We felt at home. Zuzu is a very nice dog. Thank you Ivy
