This is a very sweet studio apartment in Friedrichshain. On the first floor above the street, hardwood floors (i refinished them 3 years ago when I moved in), balcony, cute, small but fully-equipped kitchen.
Your stay includes linens (towels and bedding) and use of a TV/DVD player, speaker set that you can plug a laptop or mp3 player into for great quality-sound, midday sunshine, plants, and an amazing neighborhood.
I'd love to give the apartment to people who not only need an affordable place to stay in Berlin, but will really enjoy the neighborhood and this beautiful place to live. :) Close to U-bahn station samariter strasse, boxhagener platz and lots of bars, restaurants, and funky goodness (check out the neighborhood Guidebook!)
I have dust and mold allergies: No carpets and minimal curtains make for an allergy-friendly experience. There is no smoking inside, but the balcony is an easy solution for that.
tv with satellite +dvd
newly renovated kitchen/bathroom with shower and washing machine
queen-sized firm futon on a custom-made built-in sleeping platform, separated from room by floaty white curtains
beautiful wood floors.
lots of plants plants
parking in the neighborhood is free, but sometimes very hard to find a spot evenings
no smoking except on the balcony!

Not only the best airbnb apartment I've stayed in, but among the best apartments I've lived in. The area is vibrant, although the apartment is on a cute and quiet street. Many grocery stores.
Rachel made sure the apartment was perfectly clean when I arrived. During the whole month I was here, there was never a single problem. Neighbors are quiet friendly.
Many times Rachel has answered to our messages too late (even before our departure) and she prevented us from making good programs. In the house there was a lot of dust everywhere, the kitchen and the fridge were very dirty. The mattress was full of hair and the vacuum cleaner was completely clogged. We spent a whole afternoon to clean the apartment.
My two friends and i stayed in Rachel's studio for a week, and had an amazing time. Firstly, the location, just 1 min away from the M13 (Tram) and 5 min away from Frankfurt Alle with the U an S trains.. close to everything yet no a touristy spot, but quiet, full of small cafes, shops and the Flea Market Boxhagener Platz on Saturdays.
2 of us slept on the big, comfi bed and the third was on the mattress. there is a small, fully equipted kitchen which you can use to make simple meals (we had a lovely breakfast) and a great wi-fi conenction.
along side the wondeful things about this apartment, there 2 small things worth mentioning: there was not a way to properly to drain the water from the shower and the we were expecting, based on the picture from the website, a sklightly bigger porch.
all in all it was an ideal spot for traveleres like ourselves, and a wonderfull place to return to after a full day and night of activities.
Rachel was always available when needed, even though we didn't meet her it felt as though she was right there with us at any request or need.
Our stay in Berlin and in the studio was great. Rachel's flat was well-located and nice, but when we arrived it was not so clean as expected, specially the kitchen.
The apartment was great and the location is just excellent - you are within walking distance of pretty much anything you could need, including a mini supermarket, cafes, bars, dinner spots, and nightclubs. Rachel was very helpful and readily available to answer queries. Highly recommended.
Rachel's apartment is the perfect place for your stay in Berlin! It is on a quite street in the fabulous Friedrichshain, 10 min by UBahn to Alexanderplatz (mitte), 3 min walk to nearest UBahn station and 3 min walk to all the shops, cafes and bars of Boxhagener Platz. It is a nice area, with lots of young family's and alternative types.
The apartment itself is compact but perfect for a couple, it looks just like the pictures and had pretty much everything we needed for a really enjoyable 2 weeks in Berlin. (The only possible suggestion would be a decent kitchen knife, but one can definitely make do with what is there!).
Although we never had the chance to meet Rachel, she was a great host. Communication was easy and quick and picking up the keys to get in was a breeze. She was even really flexible with us changing our dates and coming earlier at the very last minute.
we would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Berlin, and we would definitely consider coming back if we return to Berlin.
Rachel was very helpful and always quick to reply. Even a late check out wasn't a problem. The apartment is very nicely located in a quiet street of one of my favourite neighborhoods of Berlin. The kitchen isn't too well equipped, but overall it's a great place with a really nice host.
We really enjoyed our stay at Rachel's apartment! Rachel replied promptly and helpfully to our messages. The apartment was well-equipped with a good wi-fi connection and a comfortable (firm) bed. It was close to a subway station and an inexpensive grocery store. We'd definitely recommend her place.
Had a really nice stay! Everything was as described and Rachel was very helpful! Certainly recommended!
Excellent location. Lovely neighboorhood. Rachel always replied to emails and sms rapidly - also waited for us late night as our plane got delay. Thanks!
The only improvent to wish for in this cosy studio is better cleaning prior to our arrival. On the other hand, the area itself looked quite the same way ;)
Thanks Rachel for being a kind and reliable host.
