Our experience with Pat and Jim and their guesthouse was absolutely lovely from start to finish. The home is spacious, well furnished, clean, and was stocked with everything we could have possibly needed to feel right at home for a weekend and then some. They offered a great selection of fresh local food and beverages for breakfasts and snacks. We had an eventful weekend as we were in town for a family wedding, and our only regret was that we didn't have more time to relax and enjoy the guesthouse and chat with Pat and Jim. They were so friendly and welcoming and responsive to any questions we had, but not intrusive at all and we had all the privacy we needed. Oh and I have to mention the sheets and pillows on the bed were divine. I usually look forward to sleeping in my own bed after traveling, but I have been daydreaming about those sheets ever since! We had no plans to come back to the central coast, but after our experience in this guesthouse we are considering another weekend trip just to enjoy the amenities here! I really can't say enough good things!
Do not hesitate to rent this unit! The accommodations are very comfortable, modern and private. Upon arrival you will find a bottle of nice wine and food items so you don't feel like you need to take off to the grocery store right away which is nice after a long road trip. The unit is well equipped and maintained. There is a nice balcony with a wonderful view of the countryside and downstairs a very private patio area to relax. The location is convenient to both Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo so its a great base for exploring. Lastly your hosts Pat and Jim are wonderful people. They are there for you if you have any needs but are not obtrusive. This unit felt for all practical purposes like you had your own private estate but at the rental rate is truly a bargain.
We appreciate your kind words, Bill and Cheri, and we're glad you enjoyed your stay. We enjoyed meeting you while you celebrated your daughter's graduation from Cal Poly, and we wish you the very best in your creative lives. You will always be welcome. Pat and Jim
Let me start by saying this, if you're on the fence about where to stay book here NOW!
The location: perfect, accommodations: perfect, setting: perfect, and hosts: perfect. I'm not joking, it really is that good. This listing constantly gets amazing reviews because it is the ultimate getaway. (I read in previous reviews that the place is actually bigger and better than expected and it is!) I planned a 2-day trip with my girlfriend to the Central Coast without any real knowledge of the area but Pat and Jim happily filled our itinerary. It's quiet, private and serene yet only a short drive to neighboring areas with more nightlife and hustle. We were able to go hiking along the coast, visit a stretch of wineries in the area, do dinner and drinks in downtown San Luis Obispo, and finish with some stargazing on our own porch at night.
Pat and Jim are very generous people with a real knowledge of the area that they're willing to share. Not too mention they're just great hosts, providing more than ample supplies (food, drink, toiletries, etc.) that will make your experience easy and relaxing. If I'm ever back in the area I will be staying here again! Do yourself a favor and start planning your trip to Atascadero!
Thank you, Tim. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay, and while there are many lovely Airbnb places to choose from, we're glad you chose to stay with us this past weekend. It was a delight to meet you both. If you travel our way again, you'll always be welcome. Pat and Jim
Our hosts made arrangements for an early check-in , which made it very convenient for us. They met us at the gate and showed us around the house to make sure we knew where everything was and how appliances, air conditioning, etc worked. As my daughter was getting married at the Grace Maralyn Estate, the location was absolutely perfect. It was immaculate and so peaceful during a hectic, stressful, but exciting time in our lives.
Thank you, Lori and Simon. We're so happy for you and your family that the wedding was everything you'd planned ... and more. And we're pleased our guesthouse provided a peaceful balance to a very fun and exciting weekend. You will always be welcome. With best wishes to the bride and groom! Pat&Jim
Pat and Jim were incredible hosts. They were incredibly sweet, thoughtful, generous, helpful and definitely not intrusive. The guesthouse was very comfortable and cozy. Very clean and well stocked with everything we needed and then some. I definitely recommend this place to anybody! My wife and I left super happy and impressed. One of our best Airbnb experiences ever. They even had tulips waiting on the table for us...my wife's favorite flower. And also a really nice bottle of local wine! Definitely would love to come back!
Also, check out their impressive Gallery! Jim is an impressive photographer!
I could go on for days about Pat and Jim and their beautiful guesthouse.
Pat & Jim are the perfect hosts. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and make sure you have everything, and more, that you need. We so enjoyed our stay there and would have been happy to stay longer had we been able. The guesthouse is as pictured: lovely furnishings, nice prints on the walls, TV with a ton of channels and as clean as it can get. It's a rural setting and so quiet. There are horses across the street and it's soothing to hear their occasional neighing. There are a doe and her two fawn that you will occasionally see on the property. You have all the privacy could want, but Pat & Jim are right there if you need anything. Jim will give you a tour of the gallery if you like, and we highly recommend it. There are beautiful photos that Jim has taken, as well as work from other artists whom he knows. He will give you some very interesting information about many of the photos.
After 5 days, we felt we were leaving old friends. To put it simply, we will go back in a heartbeat to stay at the guest house.
We had an awesome time at B-W Gallery Guesthouse! Jim and Pat were very friendly and thoughtful hosts. They provided everything they listed and showed is the beautiful glory of black and white photos. If you are headed to central/coastal California or want a great place to stay in the Wine tasting country, this is your place!
About the Host, Pat And Jim
We live in a serene rural setting framed by the foothills of the coastal Santa Lucia Mountain range. It was love at first sight when we discovered our property on a trip from L.A. in the 90s, and visitors often tell us they feel the same. I am a writer and my husband, Jim, is a fine art black and white photographer. If your interests lean toward photography, Jim now offers small group and private photo tours at the nearby beautiful and historic Santa Margarita Ranch. The Guesthouse apartment --furnished with your privacy, comfort and relaxation in mind -- provides an ideal centralized location for exploring every corner of this beautiful county and beyond. It offers a welcoming retreat from the city, a creative environment for writers, and a perfect "base camp" for photographers and other artists.
