Pat & Jim are the perfect hosts. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and make sure you have everything, and more, that you need. We so enjoyed our stay there and would have been happy to stay longer had we been able. The guesthouse is as pictured: lovely furnishings, nice prints on the walls, TV with a ton of channels and as clean as it can get. It's a rural setting and so quiet. There are horses across the street and it's soothing to hear their occasional neighing. There are a doe and her two fawn that you will occasionally see on the property. You have all the privacy could want, but Pat & Jim are right there if you need anything. Jim will give you a tour of the gallery if you like, and we highly recommend it. There are beautiful photos that Jim has taken, as well as work from other artists whom he knows. He will give you some very interesting information about many of the photos.
After 5 days, we felt we were leaving old friends. To put it simply, we will go back in a heartbeat to stay at the guest house.
We had an awesome time at B-W Gallery Guesthouse! Jim and Pat were very friendly and thoughtful hosts. They provided everything they listed and showed is the beautiful glory of black and white photos. If you are headed to central/coastal California or want a great place to stay in the Wine tasting country, this is your place!
Perfect Location, Perfect Hosts!
My husband and I were fortunate to stay at BW Gallery Guesthouse for 10 days in May. Our stay at the quest house was exceptional. The house is warm and inviting and the surrounding area is beautiful. Mountains, horse ranches and vineyards surround you. Everything is immaculate in the house and Jim and Pat are both gracious and hospitable, paying careful detail to your every comfort. We were welcomed with fresh muffins and bread, a bottle of local wine, and an assortment of beverages and dairy products. The location is central to the neighboring towns of San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Cambria (Hearst Castle). Morro Bay and Montana de Oro State Park are less than 20 miles away, perfect for beach combing and whale watching. There is so much to see and do within just a few miles of the guesthouse, that my husband and I extended our week stay to 10 days. We highly recommend BW Gallery Guesthouse, and would definitely stay here again.
Pat and Jim are truly special hosts that are nothing short of amazing. They're warm, thoughtful, accommodating, genuine and caring, and they made us feel welcome from the moment that we booked here.
The location was perfect for a weekend getaway for myself and my fiance, close in proximity to Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Hearst Castle, Morro Rock, and more. It was quiet, clean, scenic, easy to get to, and had everything we would ever need for the weekend.
I really can't say enough great things about Pat and Jim and this wonderful location. Book it, and trust me - it will meet and exceed any and every expectation you may have.
Shoutouts to the gallery below - if you have time, coordinate with them to get a quick look!
We're already looking forward to coming back.
This was the bets Air BnB experience we have ever had, and we have never had a bad one before. Pat and Jim are so welcoming and the space is very clean. They truly get 6 stars out of 5. They provide literally everything you may need for a stay and then some. You can tell they enjoy hosting and like to go "over the top" for their guests and it was truly a nice surprise. It is in the heart of Atascadero and very peaceful. A short drive to SLO down the 101. If I ever have to come back this way I know where I am staying. One of my favorite things was to take a walk with my wife around the area and see the different animals on the surrounding farms/ large open properties.
Pat and Jim were incredible hosts. From the moment I started corresponding with them, until even after I had left, they were nothing but gracious, warm, and welcoming. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that I had the best experience possible - they even gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and a hand written welcome note! I would highly recommend them, not only based upon their kind demeanors, but also because of the amazing space they have. It is cozy, very clean, comfortable, and furnished with just about everything you could need. It was too bad I could only stay one night - I would have liked to have stayed longer! Thanks Pat and Jim!
A comfortable place with warm and responsive hosts and beautiful photographs on the walls. Makes us even more excited to get back down to the area when we can.
About the Host, Pat And Jim
We live in a serene rural setting framed by the foothills of the coastal Santa Lucia Mountain range. It was love at first sight when we discovered our property on a trip from L.A. in the 90s, and visitors often tell us they feel the same. I am a writer and my husband, Jim, is a fine art black and white photographer. If your interests lean toward photography, Jim now offers small group and private photo tours at the nearby beautiful and historic Santa Margarita Ranch. The Guesthouse apartment --furnished with your privacy, comfort and relaxation in mind -- provides an ideal centralized location for exploring every corner of this beautiful county and beyond. It offers a welcoming retreat from the city, a creative environment for writers, and a perfect "base camp" for photographers and other artists.
