The space
The location of the Veinard is unique, in the middle of the city, but still in a quiet place on a lawn with trees.

From this place, Rotterdam is at your feet. Most sights such as various museums, including the Maritime Museum, Het Blaakse Bos, De Markthal, The Erasmus Bridge, are within walking distance.

The Oudehaven and De Witte de Withstraat, where you can eat delicious, are only a few minutes away. Witte de Withstraat has been named one of the ten coolest streets in the world by Time Out.

A bicycle can be rented nearby, which makes exploring the city even more easy.

A Jumbo supermarket is around the corner and a larger supermarket (AH) can be found in the basement of the Markthal.

It is a great experience to take the water taxi to the other side of the river Maas to visit the SS Rotterdam and enjoy a drink and a bite on this beautiful historic ship.

Guest access
Guests have access to the wheelhouse and their accommodation in the deckhouse. They also have their own private terrace on the roof of the deckhouse of the ship. Guests do not have to share anything except the entrance to the wheelhouse.

Next to the ship a large stone staircase leads into the water and there is the possibility to swim. The difference between low and high tide is about 2 meters in the Leuvehaven.

In the cabin of the ship is another B&B, this can also be booked together if you want to come with three or four people.

P+R Kralingse Zoom
Free parking for up to 72 hours when using public transport.
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From here you can travel to the center of Rotterdam in a few minutes by metro.

Other things to note
A stay on the 'Veinard' is an adventurous undertaking.
You will stay on a ship that is 38 meters long and 5 meters wide. This ship sways on the rippling water in the Leuvehaven.

Due to all the steel it can be warmer in the summer and colder in the winter. Take into account the season.

In the summer and autumn it is not possible to completely avoid spiders on the ship. The great thing about this is that they eat the mosquitoes.

All cleaning products, shampoo and conditioner etc. on board are biodegradable.

Lives in Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Dear Guests, From the first of July 2021 Im the new owner of the ship MS Veinard in Rotterdam. Because for my work as fine artist and Polar expedition photographer I'm not always around. Michiel from rhBnB (Rotterdam Host BnB) is the host. If you plan to stay on the MS Veinard he will be your contact person, receive you and can answer all your questions. This kind of ship is called a Spits. She is build in Belgium in 1913 and 38.40 meter long and 5.04 meter wide. From 1948 the ships name is Veinarrd, what ‘Lucky one’ means (bofkont in Dutch). You are very welcome on the MS VEINARD surrounded by the vibrant city of Rotterdam. Esther
