  • Charlotte was very helpful in helping us book our stay. We split our time between the Bird House and the Bird's Nest due to availability of the apartments and the transition went smoothly. The Owner of the House, Matthias, is helpful and kind.
The neighborhood is a beautiful residential enclave. While there are enough shops within walking distance to tend to your basic needs (and a farmer's market on Sundays), the Pallisades feels pleasantly removed from the city center. It's quiet and private. Very good for a couple.
If you are looking to catch the bus, just check the timetable and you can make it into central Georgetown in about 20 minutes.
The bedding is great, the kitchen is appropriately stocked, there's a washer/dryer and a dishwasher, the bathroom is small but manageable, and there's plenty of closet space.
    we liked it a lot!

  • The birdhouse was great! It is close to everything you need, yet far enough away to feel comfortable and at home. Mattias was helpful and a fantastic host. Any time we had a question we sent him a text and soon we had an answer or help. Any time we wanted to see museums, take a tour, go to the flea market, etc. we jumped on the D6 bus and in no time we were there. And if we didn't feel like going out we could walk to a number of shops, restaurants, hiking trails, or pars in the neighborhood.

  • We were very confortable in the Bird House, it was very clean. The place has a completely equiped kitchen. The location is great in a beautiful area and it is quite easy to get downtown with just one bus (with A/C).

  • The Bird House worked out great for our party of three. We were very comfortable, everything was clean and cheery, we enjoyed the neighborhood (and our parking spot!), and the host was helpful and accommodating.

  • I booked the Bird House for my parent's stay during a family event in DC. We loved the place. It was beautifully decorated, the hosts were extremely kind and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Charlotte's communication with me and her prompt response to any questions we had was also a plus. I definitely recommend The Bird House and Charlotte's services. We will book with her again next time my parents return to town!

  • My husband and I stayed in the Birdhouse for a week long getaway. We enjoyed the quiet and picturesque location of this apartment. The bus and subway system were easy and convenient to navigate from there. I was very impressed with the communication we received from Charlotte and the host prior and during our visit. We felt very well taken care of and comfortable in our home away from home.

  • Charlotte's apartment was quite nice. It provided us everything we needed for an extremely comfortable stay. It is convenient to downtown Washington DC and included a parking spot for our rental car! The property manager, Matthias, was very easy to reach with our questions and directions as needed. He was incredibly responsive. I would absolutely choose to stay in one of Charlotte's apartments again.

  • Highly recommended. The Studio was just as presented-- clean, and pleasant. The hosts were very helpful and terrific communicators who offered plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area, as well as transportation to DC. My daughter and friend stayed here and they couldn't say enough positive things about the studio and the experience with Charlotte.

  • Hi,

I'm Steffen from Germany. I had a very comfortable stay in the Bird House. It's a small and pretty apartment. You find all what you need and the accomodation is very clean and cultivated.
The landlord is very friendly and the communication between him and me was very well. I got many information about the environment and I had a contact person every time if I needed more information or help.
I want recommend the Bird House all users of airbnb.

About
My business is DC LuxeAccomodations, we offer short-stay properties in wonderful neighborhoods in Northwest Washington including those areas in high demand by visitors, i.e. DuPont Circle, Georgetown, Palisades and Capitol Hill. We offer studios to full homes for stays of 4 nights up to 8 months. Let us know your travel plans and we will find the best fit for your needs. Be generous and share the knowledge of LUXbnb, your source for short-stay rentals in Washington, with your friends, family adn colleagues. Our latest addition are vacation properties for Washingtonians. See the Washington Vacations section on our website for homes in the nearby mountains. Take a few days away from the bustle of the city to explore our bucolic countryside little changed over the past 2 to 3 centuries. Visit wineries and orchards, significant Civil War battlefields and historic towns, hike the Apalachian Trail or follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers by visiting their homes. There is plenty to do that beckons you to leave the city for a weekend or a week. A bit about me...I am a former Californian who, after 12 years in DC, is now an honorary Washington native. Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the "must-see" sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. We share that insight with our guests in our property Welcome Guides which we send upon confirmation. We very much enjoy hosting visitors to our Nation's Capital and ensuring that they are able to make the most of their visit. Charlotte Perry Founder, LUXbnb Your short-stay source in Washington.
