The Shed on Blackwood is a rural retreat with a beautiful bird-filled garden, offering peace and quiet in the South West of WA. It is an enclosed section of a large tin shed, fully renovated and very comfortable. One king OR two king single beds (MAXIMUM 2 guests). Strictly non-smoking.
Photo ID must be provided when asked for before staying at The Shed.

The space
The Shed on Blackwood is 25m from the main house and has its own undercover area outside. See The Shed’s social media page for more information.
It has reverse cycle air conditioning and for winter a lovely wood heater (wood is provided).
There is a king-size bed that can be converted into twin singles. More than 2 people will not be accommodated. Babies (bring your own cot) may be possible - please ask before booking. Please ask at the time of booking which bedding configuration you want.
The Shed is totally non-smoking, that means neither inside The Shed nor outside in the garden.
All guests will be asked to cancel their booking if they are COVID-19 positive. There are no fees for cancelling for COVID related reasons and we encourage you to rebook to an alternative date.

WIFI is free but can be patchy. We recommend you to bring your own dongle if WIFI is important.
We are very close to the Bibbulmun Track, so we can offer pick-up/drop-off services, cost depends on distance from The Shed.

Bridgetown is central to the Southern Forests region of Western Australia. It has a cold winter, ideal for snuggling up in front of the fire, and a temperate summer, with temperatures generally a bit cooler than Perth and again, cooler at night, making it a very pleasant place to holiday in. We have wineries, boutique shops, artists galore, and trees to hug close by.

During your stay

The Shed on Blackwood is a beautiful rural property and as such, there is copious wildlife on our 2.5 acres. This includes possums, birds, skinks, lizards, mice, rats, spiders, midges, mosquitoes, ants, beetles, native bees, native wasps, long-neck turtles, rabbits, flies etc. etc. They have made their home on our property because it is ideal for them. The only spraying we do is for white ants, which will destroy our home and sheds if allowed to take hold. We provide a can of Mortein under the sink if you do see insects inside. Please use the internet earth or map sites to see where we live and then make your decision to stay. We cannot control possums running around on the roof, but rest assured that they cannot get into the roof space, which is completely sealed.
So, if you intend to make, or have made, a booking at The Shed on Blackwood, we assume that you’ve read this information and agree with our policy regarding ‘pests’.
