This historic former bed & breakfast and lodge from the early 1900s has been brought back to life for your secluded escape. Nestled between creek beds and the forest, the Redwood Retreat offers five bedrooms, each with their own private bathroom, a commercial kitchen, a large outdoor deck, original pub, cold pool, and a great room with wood burning fireplace and baby grand piano. It even has it's own coy pond and waterfall.

The space
The Redwood Retreat is the perfect place to gather with friends or family to escape the noise of day to day life. Lounge in the sun or sit in the shade of the old redwood trees surrounding the estate. You can even take a refreshing dip in the Kidd Creek Cold Pool on the grounds.

Secluded yet conveniently located, the Redwood Retreat is 20 mins from the restaurants and beaches of downtown Guerneville, 15 mins from the beautiful Jenner Headlands and less than 30 mins from several fantastic wineries. It is also minutes away from both the Berkeley Cazadero Music Camp and Boyscout Camp Royaneh. For golf lovers, the Alister Mackenzie designed Northwood Golf Course is one of the top rated 9 hole courses in the country and is a quick 15 min drive away.

Less than 2 hours from San Francisco, you can feel completely secluded in over 140 acres of Redwood forest. The property has hiking trails and two creek beds to explore the best that nature can provide.

Some consider the Redwood Retreat as a historic landmark. Generations have come out to the beautiful grounds under their previous names (Cazanoma Lodge and CazSonoma Inn). We are working hard to restore the property to its former glory but it is, and always will be, a "work in progress."

Bedrooms:
Waterfall - One king sized bed with en suite bathroom over looking the famed waterfall and pond.

Creekside - Two queen sized beds with views of Kidd Creek and the waterfall.

Beatrix Potter - One queen bed with a private balcony and views of the forest and grounds.

Jane Austin - One queen bed with large windows looking into the forest.

Bunk House - Perfect for a family looking to have their own space while still in the main house, the Bunk House offers a queen sized bed in one section and two twin beds in the other.

Kitchen - The commercial grade kitchen was once used to serve up dishes for the storied dining room of the estate. Complete with a commercial range/oven, commercial refrigerator, large prep island and lots of counter space. Prepare a meal for 5 or 50 in this adaptable space.

The Great Room - Gather in the center of the Inn around the large fireplace or find a cozy corner to curl up with a good book. The Great Room welcomes you into the house and offers views of the creek, a dining table and comfortable seating for the whole family. It even has a baby grand piano for the musicians in your group.

The Alpenhorn Pub - Serve up drinks for your guests in the historic Bavarian Alpenhorn pub. Once the center of nightlife in the sleepy town of Cazadero, this charismatic bar has room for the whole group and boasts the original wood bar top and authentic pub atmosphere.

Kidd Creek Cold Pool - Rejuvenation awaits those who are bold enough to splash into the Kidd Creek Pool. This full sized cold pool will bring you back to life and offer a refreshing respite from the warm days of summer. (Please note - the pool will be closed from October 1st through June 1st).

Back Deck - the large back deck overlooks Kidd Creek, the waterfall and the pond. There are two large picnic tables for everyone to enjoy the space. The deck is a perfect place to share a meal or just relax under the shade of the redwood trees.

Other amenities: Large Front lawn, laundry room and parking area.

By booking, you accept responsibility for any damage/extra cleaning your dog causes during the stay. No dogs left home alone unless crated. Please clean up after your pet. $100 per pet fee.

Other things to note
Important note - due to the rural nature of the property, the internet service is very slow. The more people who use it, the slower it gets. You will be able to send and receive messages but not stream any media.

The pool is open from June 1st through October 1st.

The deck is open from May 1st through November 1st.
