The space

This contemporary 2 double bedroom apartment, and a front room (the sofa is a sofa bed for an additional sleep option) is situated just steps from the River Thames right in the heart of Greenwich, a beautiful and historic part of London (NOT North Greenwich which is a couple of miles away). The famous Tea Clipper ship, "The Cutty Sark", is right on its doorstep (a UNESCO world heritage site), and there are excellent transport links to central London. It offers the perfect base from which to explore London.

The apartment also has access to a communal roof garden, shared by the small number of apartments on the complex.
Greenwich is a tourist hotspot which, among it’s attractions boasts the beautiful Royal Greenwich Park, The Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, The Painted Halls, The Royal Observatory and Greenwich market.

The Apartment's location cannot get any better for access to amenities, historic attractions, and transport links to central London, Canary Wharf and the 02 Events arena. Being just steps from the river presents panoramic views of london and the opportunity to enjoy the regular boat service down the river!.

On the ground floor of the apartment building complex includes a Marks & Spencer's "Simply Food" (high end grocery store), Boots Pharmacy, a convenience store, a book store and a coffee shop, and then right opposite the apartment is a Starbucks, a Costa Coffee, and family pub amongst an array of other stores. Also within the same building is the DLR subway station.

Greenwich played a central role in the Olympics by hosting the equestrian events in Greenwich Park, making use of the beautiful historic backdrop, and stunning views across the river.

If you are unfamiliar with the neighbourhood you should take a look at the "Greenwich neighbourhood" section in Airbnb and also the visitgreenwich website for further insight into the area.
- Bedrooms:
2 bedrooms. 1 has a Queen sized bed and the other a double bed. The rooms are quiet and tastefully decorated, with plenty of storage space. The beds have high quality mattresses, duvets, and pillows to ensure that they're ultra comfy! - You can also be assured that they're ready made with clean sheets for your arrival.

- Lounge: There is a large sofa, an armchair, a coffee table as well as a dining area. The sofa is a "sofa bed", thus you have a third double bed, should this be required.

Bathroom: Very large, and complete with a bath and a separate shower cubicle.

- Kitchen: The modern kitchen will offer everything you need to prepare a big meal or quick snack before hitting the town - microwave, modern stove, oven, cutting board, toaster, kettle, fridge, cutlery sets, pots, pans and all other necessary cooking utensils!

- Additional Amenities:
Washer / dryer machine in the kitchen.
Sony IPOD speaker unit to dock your ipod and play your music!
Ironing board and Iron
A travel cot complete with bedding can be provided upon request.

- Entry to the building:
This is controlled via a secure phone-buzzer system and entry code. I have designed a solution for check in and check out which is fully automated, requiring just codes to access the apartment. This is to ensure that your access to the apartment is immediate and hassle free, and that you do not concern yourself with having someone waiting for your arrival if you are later than expected!

Either myself or my Father will be on hand throughout your trip to ensure that you are completely happy!

- Other: A full set of Fresh Towels are provided and high-speed, wi-fi internet will be available FREE throughout the apartment. The Apartment will be cleaned and sheets diligently changed after every guest. We want to make sure your stay is positive as possible!

DLR (Docklands Light Railway)
This is a 30 second walk from the apartment (Greenwich Cutty Sark station)
The trains arrive every 4 mins at peak times and every 10 mins outside of this.
- Canary Wharf in 9 mins.
- Bank (City – Financial district) in 21 mins.
- Stratford (Olympic site, and the new Westfield Shopping Mall) in 24 mins.
- By switching from the DLR to Jubilee line at Canary Wharf, you can get to London Bridge in 20 mins and to West End in 25 mins.
- DLR goes directly from Cutty Sark to London City Airport in 30 mins (1 change required at Westferry). From the apartment to the airport door to door you're looking at 35 mins!

- Greenwich mainline train station:
The station is 5 minutes walk away. It will take you to some of the following key destinations:
- London Bridge in 8 mins (Tower Bridge, Tower Of London, Southbank, Borough Market, "The City" etc).
- Waterloo East in 15 mins.
- Charing Cross in 21 mins (Trafalgar Square, Houses of Parliament, Leicester Square etc).

- Boat:
You are a 1 minute walk from the "Thames Clipper" docking point. This is a very comfortable Boat (catamaran) service (with Costa Coffee onboard) which arrives every 20 mins. In a westerly direction it takes you to:
- Canary Wharf in 8 mins.
- Tower of London in 19 mins.
- London Bridge in 23 mins, and
- Embankment (West End - Trafalgar Square etc) in 36 mins. In the Easterly direction, it takes you to
- 02 arena in 7 minutes.

Parking, as with all of London has limited free road parking in the immediate vicinity. However for guests who drive to Greenwich, who intend not to actively use their car during the stay (it really isn't needed around London), I can offer FREE PARKING in a private gated family residence about 5 miles from the apartment (about 20 mins drive away).

An additional option should you want to use a car whilst in London is to use ZIPCAR. There are several parked in allocated bays around Greenwich, and they can be hired by the hour / day etc.

The Apartment is ideal for people who want a comfortable base from which to explore the very best London has to offer.
For business users, the Apartment offers a short trip to Canary Wharf, and the City (Financial district).
For the London tourist / visitor - the Apartment is a relaxing oasis within walking distance to local attractions and easy access to central London.
The Apartment can sleep up to 5 people

I had made a scheduling error and accidentally double booked the first night of Salvatore's stay (the previous guest was due to check out a day later than advertised). This had occurred as a result of the change in the airbnb calendar view and the way that it is edited to block out dates. This was nonetheless a mistake. I was extremely apologetic to Salvatore for the mistake and told him that I would book 2 rooms for that first night in a 4* hotel which is 1 minute away from the apartment. I proceeded to make and pay for that booking. I also told him that I would personally pick up all of the luggage at the time of his parents choosing the next day and take it too the apartment. In addition if his parents would like to go to the apartment at that point I would also take them there. He refused the hotel and told me that he would like his parents to stay in hotel in Mayfair. I agreed to pay for that instead and also offered in addition financial compensation for the inconvenience caused which was accepted. Salvatore then seized the opportunity to falsely inflate the cost of the hotel night in an aim to cash in as much as he could. I requested the bill from the hotel which they emailed to me directly. Salvatore claimed that he had paid several hundred pounds in excess of the actual amount for that night. Apparently, he claimed that in addition to the hotel bill he had paid several hundred pounds in cash and that no bill could be provided for this. I spoke to the hotel a second time and they confirmed that his was not true. Salvatore then decided to attempt to further manipulate me and stated that unless I paid an additional several hundred pounds (in addition to the fully refunded night / costs + additional compensation I had already paid him) then he would give me a terrible review. All of our conversations have been recorded by airbnb and can be verified by airbnb. I saw this for the blackmail that it was and refused to comply with his obscene demands. This guy is a con man and I do not recommend that anyone deal with him.
