Interaction with Guests
You can contact me anytime and I always arrange for 'meet and great' when you arrive. If you are arriving late, I am happy to stock the fridge with fresh breakfast items. (Tea, coffee, condiments and a few staples are included.)
I can also assist you with any travel arrangements, such as booking hotels in another city, where to eat, etc. (I also write travel guides).
I have lived on Wall Street since 1996 and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Vancouver Magazine devoted an entire page to Wall Street, coining it "Vancouver's Best Kept Secret". It is private and quiet but ideally situated--close to downtown and just a minute from the highway (can't see or hear) going east or west to Whistler.
Bus stop is two blocks away and grocery stores, restaurants within a 15-minute walk.
Ample parking in front of the house.
From the airport: take the Canada Line downtown and the bus stop is across the street. Or a taxi from
Waterfront Canada Line will cost about $12.
Other Things to Note
Please note only one bathroom, so not suitable for more than four people. Two beds in second bedroom and pull-out sofa.
FYI: Vancouver has excellent tap water, no need to buy bottled water
no smoking please.
PLEASE know this isn't a party house. There is a lovely couple living in the basement and they would appreciate quiet after 11pm.
Jane's place is fantastic! It is even better in person than in the pictures. I had a lovely stay, Jane was super helpful, she had all the information we could need and more, I would have loved to have the chance to talk to her more, since she seemed like such a excellent person. This place has everything you need, I highly recommend this place.
Jane was very welcoming and generous. The house was like staying at an old friends place for us!
Jane's place was beautiful! We walked in after a long drive and were immediately impressed by the view of the water and mountains at night, and the warmth of the fire. The little deck on the front of the house was a plus, along with Jane's very thorough instructions to the house (with great food recommendations! We tried to find food ourselves the first night, but as college kids, a lot was out of our price range. We ended up going with one of her suggestions.)
Jane was also full of suggested places to visit when we met her the morning after, most of which we ended up doing. It was great to hear from a local. In addition, she introduced us to her beautiful Karelian bear dog!
As our first Airbnb, we were blown away. We will definitely check if this place is available next time we are in Vancouver!
Lovely neighborhood, close to everything and beautiful views. The house is super spacious and Jane is a fabulous host. We had a great time!
Jane was lovely and accommodating (she even exchanged money for us in a pinch). My son loved having the ships nearby.
A great place to stay. The fireplace was very cozy with a spectacular view of the water. There were plenty of towels and blankets, with a free to use washer and dryer, which was an added and unexpected bonus. The garden and bbq are great, if weather permits. The house is a bit far out from downtown (about a $15 cab ride), but is very close to East Van, with great shops and restaurants. There is also a nice walking/running trail directly across the street. Jane was great with recommendations on where to eat and what to see, and everything was written up in the house handbook for reference. She was also very easy to get in touch with and helpful. My friend lost her phone while we were there and Jane was a key player in helping us locate it.
Overall, a great city retreat!
We just stayed 5 nights at Jane's beautiful suite. From the very first contact all was a positive experience. Jane is very warm & welcoming and happy to help in any way possible. The space was comfortable, well stocked with essentials & we felt very much at home. We are a couple with a young toddler with whom eating out poses a challenge so I particularly liked having big kitchen with everything we needed to cook & extras like spices and condiments available to use if needed. The location was perfect, close to family we were visiting and many local attractions. As others have noted in their reviews, the view of the port and harbor from the front windows is magical at night & fascinating in the day. The master bed is so comfortable & the bathroom is stocked with a generous supply of large, plush towels. Having access to laundry was very helpful. We will book here again in the future.
