Charming Cottage Getaway on an Alpaca Farm

Our tranquil 2-bedroom cottage offers amazing views, rolling pastures, forest trails, and friendly alpacas. Just 20 minutes from Asheville, NC, this space blends countryside charm with modern comfort.

As a friendly note, Durrant Farms Estate is a working farm and wedding venue. You may occasionally see us accessing farm supplies under the cottage porch, mowing the lawn, or setting up for upcoming events.

This charming cottage is perfect for couples, families, or small groups looking to relax and reconnect.

Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living space with a plush couch and TV with streaming services—ideal for cozy nights in after a day exploring the mountains.

The primary bedroom features a queen-size bed, closet, full-length mirror, and vanity table for a comfortable and functional stay.

The secondary bedroom includes a Murphy bed, closet, and small TV, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for additional guests.

Step outside onto the front porch with pond and mountain views, complete with rocking chairs, outdoor seating, and a grill—perfect for slow mornings and golden hour evenings.

During your stay, enjoy access to our scenic property:
• A walking trail around the pond (catch-and-release fishing welcome)
• A peaceful 0.3-mile wooded trail loop
• Fenceline access to our alpaca and llama pasture, where you can interact with our friendly herd
• A cabin sauna with electric huum heater

Pet Policy
We welcome up to 2 dogs. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times and cleaned up after.

Please keep in mind that we are an active working farm and wedding venue. During weekday stays, we may be caring for the land by mowing and preparing for weekend events.

Guest access
Guests will have full private access to the cottage and its immediate outdoor spaces, including the front porch, grill, and seating areas.

Each reservation includes one designated parking area for up to 2 vehicles, conveniently located near the cottage.

You’re also welcome to enjoy select amenities and explore parts of the property during your stay:
• The pond walking trail (catch-and-release fishing allowed)
• The 0.3-mile wooded trail loop
• The fenceline along the alpaca and llama pasture, where you can safely enjoy and interact with the herd
• Cabin sauna with electric huum heater

Please note that pasture entry is not permitted without a scheduled experience (such as Brunch with Alpacas or a guided meet-and-greet), as this helps keep both guests and animals safe.

Certain areas of the property are private or staff-only, including the pavilion, fenced pastures, and operational equipment.

We are a working farm and event venue, so you may occasionally see staff on-site or preparations for events in other areas of the property—but your cottage space will always remain private.

Other things to note
Our property is home to llamas, alpacas, and other farm animals. While they are friendly, please do not enter fenced areas or feed them anything other than approved treats.

The cottage is located in a natural, rural setting, so you may encounter wildlife, insects, uneven terrain, or changing weather conditions—part of the charm of a mountain farm stay 🌿

Durrant Farms Estate is a working farm and event venue, so you will likely see staff on-site during the week as we care for the property and animals.

During weekdays, we mow the lawn and occasionally start setting up for large weekend weddings. On weekends, we host site tours and brunch experiences in other areas of the property. We do our best to stay clear of the areas around the cottage in order to maintain a peaceful and private experience for your stay.
