Interaction with Guests
I and my 7 year old boy (part time) live here.
I advise on the places to go, things to see and do and what to ignore in Dublin.
get ideas,...plan and arrange things to do, on line, in advance, make time efficient when you are here,
Clontarf is a residential part of Dublin 3, and not a far flung suburb outside Dublin. It is a premier residential address, as it has been for 150 years.
Close to the sea, approx between the city centre and the airport. City Centre 5km, Airport 10km.
very well located next to shops and super easy public transport to city with train and buses every 10 mins
The house is on a quiet road but is walking distance from great restaurants, bars, shops, supermarket and services.
The super market open 07:00-24:00 7 days is 150metres from house so it is great resource to have.
There are plenty of Chinese, Indian, French an Irish food restaurants and take aways so you are very well serviced if you do not feel like cooking yourself.
You can enjoy pubs of Clontarf, like Harry Byrne's for example, so much so,that you might never go to the city centre. The trouble with Harry..... is you will never leave....... a place of character and history and food for the soul.
The viking theatre over a pub called The Sheds, fantastic place for budget drama.
A huge beach of white sand 3km away.
There are many parks like St Anne's park, Fairview Park
The House is located 5km from city Centre;
20mins by bicycle; 15mins by bus; 10mins in car; €12 in a taxi; suburban train (DART) station 200m away to city centre, but also all the way NORTH to Howth and all the way SOUTH to Greystones;
Howth is a beautiful fishing village worth a day visit and a lunch.
Dun Laoghaire is equally beautiful destination and another day visit.
The DART gives you direct access from house.
The location is brilliant and can not be beaten to access all places without a car..
The Airport how to do it.....
Option A: (the quickest & simple)
TAXI from airport to house, should be approx €22, ask driver to go via "Collins Avenue" in a Dublin accent.
The house is a €17 fixed price taxi to airport.
Option B: (economic but suits medium bags on wheels best)
Get regular Dublin Bus €2.35pp towards City Centre (16 , 41). Get off at Collins Avenue. Walk 1.3km to house.
Option C: (slowest and not simple if a lot of bags)
Get Airport Bus €6pp to City Centre and after get Dublin Bus (29A, 31, 32) €2.35pp to house.
NO CAR REQUIRED WHEN YOU STAY HERE, but if you have a car, parking free in private driveway, off street.
The promenade is a 1000m away and a beautiful walk, you can enjoy the area so much you will have no reason to go to centre, but 20mins on any bus and your there.

We really enjoyed our stay at Michael's lovely home... everything was great :) Michael was a wonderful host. He helped us for our tours and ordered the taxis and have us so much informations about his country ...thanks so much for all ;) we will defintly come back... So when you go to Dublin it is a great place at Michael's hone to see all intersting things...
My boyfriend and I liked our stay at Micheal's house. He is a kind, sociable man who made us feel at home, was quick to help and give advice when needed, and let us use the kitchen in the morning to make breakfast. The room was clean an simple, with enough space for both our stuff. The bed was super cosy and comfy. A vent in the wall above the bed is unfortunate as it amplifies any noise coming from the outside. A pair of earplugs is good idea to have with you. The place is very well located to public transport, shops, etc. We would recommend it for your stay in Dublin.
Micheal is warm and welcoming. He made time for our questions and help with suggestions between his busy schedule. He helped us to make arrangement for a cab on our last day so that we can get to our next trip on time. We really appreciated his help and explanations on our first trip to Ireland
We had such a great stay at Michéals house! He is very friendly, kind and gave us lots of tips for our stay in Dublin. The room is clean and comfy and we were free to use the kitchen, which was very good because going to restaurants in Dublin is kind of expensive ;) From the house its a 1 hour walk or a 20 min bus ride to the city center. The bus station is just a 1 min walk away. We also enjoyed that its so close to the sea, so you have both: city and nature. We would definetely come back! :)
We had a wonderful time in Michéal's house. Great place to stay in a perfect location. Michéal is a great host and gave us a lot of valuable tips for our trip.
