Bright and affordable studio in a great location. Within walking distance to Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, business district, and main metro stops.
The studio is airy and clean with lots of light. The kitchen is complete with a microwave and coffee maker as well as all cookware, dishes, and utensils are included.
-new heating furnaces
-linens & towels
-all utilities included
-Tourist information, maps, and guides
The building is well cared for with cleaning service. The studio is all electric (no gas).
The apt is 6th floor without lift.
We hade a very pleasant stay in Martins studio! Everything was clean, and the studio is in a great neighborhood. He was very helpful with everything, and we could not ask for a better host. He even helped us carrying our luggage, calling a cab for us and much more.
As promised, a cute studio that is clean, quiet, and close to the touristy areas (5 min walk to the Metro line), with a beautiful view of the Arc de Triumph in passing.
Martin let us know that he wouldn't be available to greet us, but his friend Michel would. My friend and I arrived at the building 15 mins early, but Michel was already there waiting. He was so kind, & showed us how to open each door, helped us with our luggage (6 flights of stairs), and gave us a tour of the place. He provided towels and extra blankets. The place was very very clean. He was very nice. I loved that Martin provided a few maps of Paris. Internet was working well. It really is a quiet & peaceful place, with a beautiful window view of Paris :)
As promised, this was a good deal. It is west of MOST of the touristy areas (like the Louvre, Notre dam, and Eiffel tower, etc) BUT nothing the metro can't get you too. Martin also answered our emails within minutes. He is a great!
The place is great for 2 people. I don't know how big groups could stay in, especaily because the bathroom is pretty small..but we only stayed for 4 days and it was good enough. I think, in the future, I would stay closer to the Louvre area..but his rates were relatively fair for the location. The freezer was broken (he put a note that it wasn't working). Not sure if the washer was working since we didn't try. But anyway, thanks Martin for a great place to stay in Paris!
Martin was great. Great communication before our arrival and he was very flexible with meeting us at the apartment based on our train's arrival time. The apartment itself was OK, especially for the price, but I have stayed at much better airbnb's in Europe.
- Great host
- Very clean
- Decent view
- Working kitchen with pots, pans, plates, etc.
- Great internet connection
- Close to 2 grocery stores
- Safe neighborhood
Not so good:
- Make sure Martin shows you how to get the lobby door open (the key doesn't work well and we were stuck there for 5 minutes the first time we tried to get in; he may have showed us how to do it and I forgot but the lock is clearly damaged)
- Laundry machine didn't work
- Freezer in refrigerator didn't work
- Location: it seemed like a great location when we booked it but we were doing a lot of touristy things that were pretty much all east of the apartment and we would have saved ourselves some time/metro passes by staying closer to the Louvre area
- We stayed during a very warm week so 6 floors of stairs weren't fun to climb and the top floor unit got very hot (no A/C)
- It rained a lot while we were there and it being the top floor the rain was super loud, especially due to some sort of metal vent that the rain was hitting
- Bathroom is super small and towards the end of our 9 day stay it was getting a bit annoying
The location is so convenient and within easy walking distance of both the Arc de Triomphe and the metro. The apartment itself is great with a bathroom, kitchen facilities, and lots of little touches such as a first aid kit (very handy!) and guides of Paris. The couple were very welcoming and met us at a time that suited us, they were also very helpful with information about Paris and with any questions or problems that we had. Overall, an excellent place to stay!
martin's apartment was just lovely. neat and tidy with everything we needed for our stay. the french wine and maps of paris were a nice touch and although we did not meat martin himself he was easy to communicate with. would definitely stay here again!
I've stayed 5 month in the apartment of Martin and his wife all I can say is that they were amazing host. He always responded really fast and was always there when I needed him. When there was a problem with the washing machine one time and I had to work and study he waited in the apartment during the day for the persons who would fix it. When the telephone didnt work Martin came over the next day and brought a brand new one. Martin and his wife welcomed me in front of the apartment and helped me carry up my heavy luggage, explained everything to me, how the washing machine works, TV, heating etc. and even got me a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. I am a 100% satisfied with Martin as a host.
The apartment itself basically contains everything you need. Even for me as a long stayer, there was nothing I was really missing there. It has a fridge, a good heating system, even an electric blow dryer which made me really happy, two cooking plates, a pretty comfortable sleeping couch plus an additional bunk bed, which was great when I hosted friends during my long term stay. The apt is on the sixth floor, it is quiet a walk, but hey ..., I guess you can skip some workouts for that. The location is just perfect. It is right by Étoile and you have the 1, 2 and 6 metro lines about 2min away just like the champs elsyées. Two supermarkets are literally right in front of the door aswell as a great bakery and dry cleaner. The arrondissement is really quiet and really peaceful aswell. The 16th is probably one of the wealthiest and most popular arrondissements in Paris. So I really felt safe walking home in the night. Also it is the place to live to experience all the great nightlife in Paris. All the well known clubs are less than 15min away by foot and since it is incredibly hard to find a taxi at night in Paros it was so convenient just to walk home! The neighbors are really quiet and generally older, in 5 month there has never been any noise in the apartment at night, which bothered me from sleeping. I wished all my airbnb experiences would have been like this and after all I would totally stay in the same apartment again and I can absolutely recommend you Martin as a host. The apt wasperfect for me as a single long term stayer for 5 month and would surely be as great for 2-3 people for a shorter period of timel)
My mate and I stayed here for holiday and loved the space! Martin and Mariana were so kind. Everything was incredibly clean and they even had a bottle of French wine waiting! The beds were just perfect in size and we felt we had decent amount of space, especially for a Parisian flat. The only thing I would change is adding a lift to the building, but, hey, it's good exercise to walk stairs!
Martin's studio is bright and clean, perfect for one or two travelers who just need a place to sleep. It's small, but not too cramped - and the sixth floor walk-up is a bit challenging, but if you're going to be out exploring all day anyway, it's perfect. The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave and refrigerator for keeping and preparing your own food (there's a small grocery store right down the street), the bed is comfortable (it's a futon with a loft bed on top, so technically you could fit 3 but it'd be really tight), and the bathroom, though small, was super clean. The neighborhood the apartment is in is very safe. You're just a short walk away from the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysee, and the Metro is right around the corner too for exploring elsewhere. I would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely value for money, highly recommend. Awesome location with RER and Metro within 5mins walk. Apartment was clean and well equipped. The booking process was easy, met Martin at the building main door and he took time to explain/introduce us to the apartment and its surrounding. Even though he was on holiday, we kept in contact via Whatsapp. Thanks Martin, we will be back!
This was an amazing place to stay by myself.
The place was neat and clean and equipped with everything you need, from maps and guide of Paris, Super clean towels, Hair dryer even the first aid kit!
Martin was wonderful host. He gave me great direction with good English. And he waited me in cold outside about 30 min because of my delayed train but he just said "No problem!"
This place located in extremely convenient area and close to subway station. I just loved this place and had a really great time during my stay. Thank you Martin.
