Centrally located in the heart of Cihangir, which is one of the oldest and most hip neighborhoods in Istanbul.
The neighborhood is 24 hours alive and safe. It has many narrow streets, a park, and street cafes. Cihangir is where Istanbul nightlife's heart beats.
It takes 5 minutes to Taksim square and 5 minutes to Galatasaray High School. Lots of little boutiques and design stores, antique stores, gourmet cafes and clubs are nearby. Montmartre of Paris, Soho of New York.
You will love my apartment :)
We had an excellent experience here. Interestingly, we did not end up staying at this flat--about a week before our trip, Zarifi let me know that it was under construction and helped us move to one of her other properties. Everything went very smoothly.
Zarifi really made our stay a successful one. When we first arrived, she gave us recommendations of things to do and how to do them easily and restaurants to visit. She then walked us around the neighborhood to help us get acclimated.
In the end, it made for a very homey experience. We were very comfortable in the apartment and the neighborhood felt like our home base for our first visit to Istanbul.
Everything was perfect.
Host was lovely.
Area was great.
Apartment was very comfortable and nicely
Zarif was very kind and gave us all the necessary information for our first days in Istanbul. She even took us for a walk in the neigborhood.
The flat is well furnished and clean. Wifi works on full signal. We had a great stay in Istanbul. Thanks!
Zarifi offered us a different apartment as there was apparently construction work going on the building so I am unable to comment on this one. The one we stayed in had been recently renovated and was fairly comfortable. It was located at the top of of two flights of impossibly steep and narrow stairs but we managed. Cihangir is a lovely area with lots of cafes and restaurants and we were very glad we had chosen to stay there. Zarifi was very helpful and gave us some good tips on places to eat and visit.
Billur was really nice and welcoming! After we arrived, she took us for a little tour of the neighborhood and showed us the nice bars, restaurants and shops in the area. And the conclusion is: there are plenty of options within a five-minute walking distance! The apartment is definitely well-located and provides everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Nothing really stands out in the apartment, but nothing misses or should be a problem either. Overall a good pick.
We, my boyfriend and I, had an amazing holiday in Istanbul. The apartment is situated in the best location you could possibly wish for: Cihangir is a super hip area with cute cafes and bars everywhere. When we arrived, Zarifi welcomed us and gave us an insider tour around the neighbourhood, which was really great and helpful! She also bought some nice things such as water, fresh fruit and crackers for in the apartment upon our arrival. Super sweet!!
Zarifi is a very warm and inspiring person, knows a lot about the area, responds quickly to questions and is always willing to help and give honest advise. I think this is what will make your stay in Istanbul extra special.
My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom, walk up (1st floor) flat on Yeni Yuva Cd. The apartment was comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped and the bathroom adequate. The area is lovely, a bit of old world intermingling with modern cafes and restaurants. We shopped in a small grocery store only a block away for breakfast supplies, snacks and wine. Turkish wine is quite good although expensive in restaurants.
Our Host met us at the apartment and took us for a walk around the neighborhood. She was very accomodating and answered out emails quickly.
The apartment is within walking distance of Taksim Square and the Tophane Tram stop although (we are seniors) the walk back to the apartment from the tram stop is quite a steep uphill climb. After the first day, we hopped in a taxi to take us up the hill. Taxis are very reasonable.
I highly recommend this apartment in a "happening" residential area of Istanbul. We stayed 8 days and had plenty to do and see. Take a ferry up the Bosphorus and take in the expanse of Istanbul along the shores.
My check- in was delayed due to an emergency on part of the (website hidden) in case you arrive at the place and no one opens you make sure to ring other bells of the house as well, as another person in charge of the flat lives downstairs (which I did not know). It is also important to keep in mind that the key which opens the housedoor needs to be turned to the right to open it, if you don´t want to be standing outside messing with the keys for a long time.. BUT all this can be forgotten, when it comes to the place itself: a nice apartment, fully equipped kitchen, good working Wifi, a nice bedroom in a quiet street. And yet soo conveniently located to make your way through Istanbul. Walking distance from Takism (airport bus ) and to the tramstop Tophane it is just a short stroll downhill, from there you have good connection to the touristic sites in Sultanahmet. As a welcome I had a letter from Billur on the table and also 2 jetons for the tramway to get me going.Little shops and and some neighbourhood bars in the street…Overall it felt good and comfortable to stay at this place. I also liked the fact that there were flowers boxes in front of the window.
This was a great place to stay! Billur was a wonderful host and showed us around the neighborhood upon our arrival. The location is perfect - great restaurants and bars nearby - and only about 10 min walk to Istiklal street. Apartment is cozy but has everything you need (there were just two of us).
This was my first AirBnB experience, and it was excellent. Billur is a wonderful host. I had told her beforehand that I was very sensitive to the cold. When I arrived, she explained that the heating in the flat was somewhat erratic due to nearby construction work, and she was therefore putting me in a different property nearby. She'd turned on the heating a few hours previously, and the flat was absolutely toasty warm for the duration of my stay (and was spotlessly clean with a lovely view of the sea, plus a mere stone's throw from the tram stop and a well stocked grocery store). The kitchen was fully equipped, and both the bed and bath linens were warm and of good quality. The flat had very generous storage space, and was well furnished. Billur also helped me book a taxi to the airport for my last day when I realized it would be too early in the morning to flag a cab in the street (and this was especially considerate given that she had the flu that day). All in all, a fantastic stay and a lovely person. Thank you very much!
