The space
Soft morning light filters through the redwoods as the forest air stays cool and still, gathering around the cabin’s weathered beams. Indoors, the stone fireplace becomes a natural anchor, offering warmth as you settle into the quiet rhythm of early spring in the coastal woods. From the deck, you can feel the hush of the trees while the season continues its slow shift toward longer days.
Sleeping arrangements
This 2-bedroom cabin sleeps up to 4 guests across 3 beds, providing a calm setting shaped by wood interiors and details that reflect its 1906 character. Each room offers a simple, grounded atmosphere suited to unhurried mornings and restful nights beneath the forest canopy.
Kitchen and dining
An upper-level kitchen positions you near the treetops as you prepare meals at your own pace. The breakfast nook offers a place to ease into the day, while the dining table supports quiet evenings after time spent exploring the trails and landscapes around Occidental. The kitchen includes space where guests can cook their own meals, along with cooking basics and a coffee maker.
Comfort and convenience
The main bathroom includes a bathtub, and an additional outdoor toilet and shower offer a rustic alternative. A washer sits on the back deck for longer stays, and heating keeps the home comfortable during the cooler season. You will also find WiFi, a TV, bed linens, hangers, an iron, and clothing storage. Internet speeds may vary due to the remote forest setting.
Historic character
Built in 1906, the cabin carries the texture of its history in its beams and gently uneven floors. The impressive stone fireplace shapes the living space, providing a warm retreat when temperatures dip. An antique stove contributes to the atmosphere while maintaining ease and functionality.
Outdoor living
The deck extends into the shelter of the redwoods, offering a quiet spot to pause and take in the crisp air. Free parking on the property accommodates up to 3 vehicles, and privacy fencing adds to the secluded feel. An outdoor dining area provides a simple forest-side place to gather between outings.
Home safety
Two exterior security cameras are positioned at the front gate and near the back laundry area. Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit are provided.
Pet-friendly
Pets are allowed, and assistance animals are always welcome.
Perfect for quiet escapes
If you are seeking fireside evenings, time among the trees, or a place shaped by the slow pace of the forest, this cabin offers a peaceful, pet-friendly retreat rooted in its redwood surroundings.

Other things to note
This is a vintage cabin built in 1906, so you may notice a few quirks here and there—slightly uneven floors, cozy room sizes, and a charming (but old) stove that takes a little patience. We think it adds to the magic, but want you to be comfy and informed!
There is no air conditioning. The cabin stays relatively cool thanks to the forest setting and shaded deck, but we provide fans for warmer days.
We’re in the forest! Expect the occasional critter or pine needle—nature is part of the charm. We have regular pest control and do our best to keep everything tidy.
WiFi is available, but due to the remote setting, speeds can vary. Great for streaming and email—maybe not ideal for multiple Zoom meetings.
We love this little place and hope you will too. If you ever have questions before booking, feel free to reach out!
Pets: We allow 1 dog under 60lbs or 2 under 40lbs but we would like to ensure that all guests are safe so if you bring your dog, please be respectful and do not allow them on the furniture, pick up their waste from the yard, do not leave them alone in the house without supervision. Due to our dog visiting the home and one of us having allergies, we do not allow cats or any other animal in the house, thank you for understanding.
PLEASE NOTE: Host truck is parked inside the fence
