Located a few blocks from the Orange Line, our apartment has convenient access from MDW airport and is just one stop from downtown. Ample FREE street parking, a fantastic bar, a gourmet coffee roaster/cafe, and a delicious bakery all on our block!
The apartment is a large four bedroom space, the private guest room is on the complete opposite side of ours. Guests will be able to enjoy their privacy in this spacious accommodation, which comfortably sleeps 2.
Guests are free to use either of the 1.5 bathrooms, our large kitchen (feel free to make us dinner! umm, somebody?) living room with HDTV and surround sound, and screened porch. Wifi is also available.
Interaction with Guests
Our busy and fluctuating schedules may not always allow for us to spend much time with our guests, however one of us is usually always at home during the day. That said, we have had the pleasure of hosting some of the most friendly and courteous people we've ever met anywhere and we've had a great deal of fun!
Bridgeport is an up and coming neighborhood with a growing community of small businesses and art collectives. We are located close to downtown, US Cellular Field (Chicago White Sox), Chinatown, and the 31st Street Beach.
Please check out our blog in the house manual for lots of fun things to do!
CTA Orange Line, Number 8 Halsted bus, Metra Rock Island line 35th St stop, I-55 (Ashland exit), I-94 (31st exit.) (website hidden) maps can likely help you figure out the rest. Free street parking is usually pretty easy.
Other Things to Note
Allergy Sufferers: Please be aware we have two cats and one puppy(!!!!) in the home, however they are never allowed in the guest room. We wash the bed sheets and towels with scent and dye free detergent.
No smoking or drugs. Alcohol is encouraged.
I needed a place to stay close to the Bridgeport Art Center for a weekend event. The place was neat and clean and close to just the right amount of amenities for a weekend trip. There was a cute bakery/restaurant, lovely little craft brew bar, and a coffee shop all on the corner right by the apartment. There was also a 'mainstream' kind of hilariously random grocery store and CVS down the street about 3 blocks for random stuff you might need, or have forgotten to bring with. The neighborhood definitely has that artsy, transitional, up-and-coming sort of vibe, very ethnically mixed, so if a little walking and such isn't your sort of thing, then keep that in mind. As a woman, I felt safe walking around during the day and early in the evening. Michael and Jackie were very sweet and accomodating, so were the canine and feline residents.
Michael and Jackie's place is superb in Bridgeport, and I would say it is outstanding even in the entire Chicago metro area. The chic feeling of an artist/designer home is waiting for you to experience. We loved their cats and petted the fatter one of them. We also appreciated the big and cozy bed. It is safe and clean, and I would definitely recommend it to my friends. Most likely, I will choose to stay here again on my next visit to Chicago.
Michael and Jackie and were great hosts- we stayed for two nights and loved the apartment. The layout makes you feel very independent, but we also felt very comfortable using the kitchen, et cetera. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and I definitely recommend staying here!
This was my first airbnb experience and I must say that it was a good one.
The place was exactly as described. I liked the room and the location was perfect for me as I had to travel to downtown a lot.
Mike was there to answer my queries and though I didn't get to interact with Jackie much, they both made me feel welcome.
Thanks you for the warm reception and I hope to come back again soon.
Michael and Jackie were consummate hosts, with great communication from the second we made our instant booking. The room, like their entire flat, is beautifully designed with a boisterous and adorable puppy to boot. The apartment has easy on-street parking and is conveniently located for the Halsted 'L' station on the Orange Line which is only a couple of stops from the downtown Loop. We had a great breakfast at farm-to-table local spot Nana which is only a couple of blocks away and the explored Chicago's Riverwalk and the incredible art in Millennium Park. Thoroughly recommend staying with Jackie and Michael and having a lovely trip to Chicago!
A great location! Transit's close and downtown isn't far at all. The room is cozy and quiet; just what we were looking for. Michael and Jackie were super helpful in getting us oriented to Chicago.

We are a fun and laid back couple with a family of pets. Michael is a graphic designer, a beer snob, and guilty of gummy bear genocide. Jackie is finishing her masters in interior design, a cupcake connoisseur, and works in real estate development. We love to explore our city and share our favorite places with each other and visiting family and friends. We've created a blog to help you find fun things to while you're here- wheninbridgeport (dot) blºgspºt (dot) cºm- Curated by a couple of Chicago experts! (degrees=o; why AirBnB makes helping people with directions and information difficult, I'll never know)
