The Polhek Cottage is a small and cozy haven that's perfect for couples or small families seeking a peaceful getaway. Located in the scenic beauty of the Polhov Gradec Dolomites, the cottage offers respite from the fast-paced city life. Nature lovers and adventure seekers alike will find solace in the numerous hiking trails, where breathtaking views await at every corner. Or, if you prefer a more relaxed experience, you can unwind amidst the gentle sounds of chirping birds and flowing water.
The space
The cottage is surrounded by nature, so you won't be bothering anyone, and no one will bother you, except maybe some mischievous forest animals.
The cottage has three floors, the middle one is where you will be spending most of your time. It includes a bathroom and a single room combining the kitchen, dining, and living room. In the middle of it is a fireplace that will keep you warm in the winter.
The top floor is the sleeping area, with two single beds and a double bed. There are always a couple of extra blankets and bed linen in the closets.
The bottom floor is mostly used for storage, but it does house a washing machine and some other things you might find useful.
Guest access
Nothing is off limits, you will have access to everything in the cottage and the surrounding area.
Other things to note
The last couple hundred meters of the road are gravel. It's usually in good shape, but rainstorms can sometimes make it a bit worse. Still, you shouldn't have any trouble driving up with your car, except if it sits really close to the ground.
The cottage is accessible in the winter by foot and by car, most of the time without any problems. The roads are usually plowed and cleaned up in a couple hours after a snowfall. So if you're not arriving in the middle of a snow storm, you should be fine, but we still recommend having snow chains in the car.
Firewood is always available at the cottage. The indoor fireplace will provide a special, warm ambience in the cold winter days.
