This is the best room (we like to call it the "Presidential Suite") in a big house with a great location and picturesque architecture. It's located at 50 meters from "Campo 24 Agosto" subway station, a 10 minutes walk away to the train stations, and 5 minutes to the bus station.

Interaction with Guests

If you're looking for a place where you can have full-privacy within a peaceful and friendly environment, this is it. You can get plenty of great ideas by asking the resident (me) about typical restaurants and coolest scene bars.

If you're on a budget, home cooked traditional meals can be arranged upon request. You'll be surprised with our creative cuisine! Alternatively, you can just opt for a self-catering experience.

+ Peaceful neighborhood right next to the busy city center; plenty of grocery shops, restaurants and trendy bars just around the corner.

Located in a really peaceful neighborhood (next to Porto's Fine Arts College), just 2 blocks away from the liveliest central streets. The house has a great artistic vibe and doubles as a mini-gallery. The residents are mostly travelers and people connected to the city's cultural scene.

  • I had a very good time at André's Private Suite at Artistic Residence. The location is perfect, just in between the more hipsterly/touristy neighbourhood, with many great cafés, bars and clubs and in the opposite side a more authentic local part of town.
The apartment is nice and big. Great view on the sunrise on one side and sunset on the other balcony. The room is quite simple but has all the essentials. The bed is good too.
There were a few other guests in the apartment whom I haven't met, I appreciated the privacy and the easygoing atmosphere, no pressure to socialize.
André is a good host and nice person, the room was perfectly clean and when we asked for advice of suggestions he offered plenty.
I'd be very happy stay there again!

  • André was a really great host, who always tried to help me and answering my questions. The room was clean and as shown on the pictures. It is quiet close to the historical city center, you can either walk their in about ten minutes or simply take the metro, which stops right outside the building.

  • We had a great time on our stay with André, the apartment is spacious and close to lots of attractions by foot.
André took the time to show us local café that we would have missed other ways.

  • Andre's place was very clean and close to a metro station. It was also about 10-15 mins walk to downtown so it was pretty convenient. We did not get to see Andre much however, and he wasn't quite ready for us - room was not ready and Andre was late on letting us in on day 1. There can be quite a few mosquitoes here so remember to bring some bug repellents!

  • Great location and great host!
André will make you feel at home in his home while at the same time respecting your privacy.
I only spent a couple of nights in Porto and wish I could have stayed longer. Maybe next time!

  • The apartment is very close to the centre of the city. There is a Metro just 5 minutes from the entrance of the apartment and is conveniently connected to key train stations and key tourist locations of Porto.

Should you fancy a walk to the city centre, it takes about 30 minutes to walk to the centre of centre in Porto.

The room itself has a private bathroom which makes living here like a hotel. There is a kitchen for cooking needs and a living room to use as well. Basically, all the essentials are there. The apartment is only shared with André and another short term tenant which makes it really quiet. There are also a small art library to look at and the apartment is overlooking the city a bit since it is on the top floor.

André was really welcoming. There was no problem checking in and he even took sometime to recommend local specialties and tourist highlights. Due to difference in time schedules, I did not see him after the initial welcoming. But André is an artist and I bet he is an interesting person to talk to if you get to talk to him more during your stay.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

  • André's place was very nice for our three day vacation in Porto. The location was within walking distance of many attractions in the city, but it was especially nice for us to be away from the city center and tourist attractions to check out some nice spots that locals frequent. Definitely try the pork sandwiches by the park. And don't forget the 5€ house wine! Only complaint was the mosquitoes in the room! But you can buy some mosquito killing stuff at one of the local shops
