Interaction with guests
We live in the same building so are on hand and happy to interact with our guests as much as they like or to give them their own space if that is preferred.
Very tranquil and scenic setting with regular sightings of golden and sea eagles from the house along with seals, otters and porpoises.
We are close to Scalpay which has a small craft village, small community shop and award winning bistro which is a great place to eat out for lunch or evening meal (table needs to be booked as very popular). Scalpay lighthouse is a great walk and rewards you with stunning views across the Minch to Skye and mainland Scotland.
Caolas photographic gallery's is a short walk down the road offering tea/coffee and home made cakes as well as great photos.
There is a local bus service between Scalpay and Tarbert. This passes our door and the driver is happy to stop right outside if asked. Please note that this doesn't run on Sunday
Other things to note
Please note that everything is closed on Harris and Lewis on Sunday's.
The local grocery shop in Tarbert Morrisons stays open until 8 pm Mon-Sat during the summer and 6 pm out of season. The petrol station on the main Stornoway road out of Tarbert opens in the evening 8-9 pm Mon-Sat.
It is IMPORTANT TO BOOK YOUR FERRY as early as possible especially during the busy summer months. They can often be full!
