Nestled in the Riverbend section of Uptown New Orleans, this little gem of a home sits half a block from Historic Oak street. Whether at full-tilt during the Oak Street Po-Boy Festival, just coming to life on weekend mornings with crowds seated outside the Oak Street Cafe for fresh homemade doughnuts and live Jazz, or past sunset when crowds at the ever-popular Jacque Imo's and Maple Leaf Bar spill out on to the sidewalk, there's always something going on. This 1 BR/1 Bath, originally built in the 20's has been fully restored to it's original grandeur with a mix of the historic and the modern. With a minimalist touch and attention to detail, you'll enjoy an open floor plan living room and a beautifully appointed kitchen. The den offers Flat screen TV, Wi-Fi internet, and a queen sized sofa bed. The bedroom features a queen sized bed, full-closet and a screened-in porch with adirondack chairs for star gazing. Soak in the jacuzzi bathtub after a long day of sight seeing.
Guests will have access the the property they book and any public areas, such as back yards, porches or terraces, depending on the building.

We spent a month in New Orleans at Steve and Lenora's home and had a wonderful time at the Oak St. Charmer! The location is excellent, the home is very clean and the fully fenced yard was perfect for our dog to run around in. My husband traveled a few times for work while we were there and so I was at the house by myself occasionally and I felt completely safe in the neighborhood. Great restaurants right around the corner and a Bikram Yoga studio 100 feet from the house and you can pick up the street car just down the road. Audubon Park is just over a mile away and has a great running trail, the neighborhood is also a quick walk to Maple Street or drive to Magazine street. Everything you need is close by and convenient! We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to New Orleans! Thank you Steve and Lenora for the adorable place to stay, we really enjoyed our visit!
Nice place, and a good location - open plan large one bedroom, sleeps five, with a fold out sofa bed. liked it ;)
Steven's place was fantastic! Everything you needed, clean and in a wonderful location! Oak street is around the corner with lots of great local places to eat, shop and walk around!
Magazine street is very close as well an getting downtown is a non issue.
A perfect place for a longer stay. I'll be sure to stay here again in the future!
This place is a hidden gem! There were four of us with room for one or two more people. Plenty of space to spread out from the front all the way to the back porch. I think all owners should consider installing keyless entry like Lenora. It made it so much easier not having to keep up with a key especially when the group splits up or return to the house at different times. The bed was super comfy with extra pillows throughout. There were plenty of plush towels that lasted through the weekend. I love the screen in back porch because we know rain attracts mosquito's so we didn't get bitten the entire time. We found out our first night catching the trolley back to the rental that the tracks were being repaired so they dropped us off about 2 miles from the house and the bus took us the rest of the way. Because of the rain we decided to cab it due to the scattered showers. Parking on the property was convenient for 1 vehicle in the driveway. Otherwise you have to find parking on the street. The neighborhood itself was very quite the majority of our stay. We were in walking distance to various restaurants, cafe's, novelty and art galleries. Only a short drive to Magazine street where you find an abundance of shops and salons. Kinda reminds me of Olde Town Springs outside of Houston. I'm truly looking forward to our next vacation and hope that we can stay at one of Lenora's properties. Thanks!
Our stay at Le Bons Temps house was great, and we would stay there again in the future!! There was plenty of room for 4 people to have their own space but also hang out together in the common rooms. The best part of this house is definitely the location! We were able to walk to so many great restaurants, coffee shops and bars - all of which had a more "local" feel than if we had stayed closer to downtown. The neighborhood itself is also nice - it was fun to just walk around and look at the houses, or walk down Carrollton. Location, location, location! The pile of brochures that the owner leaves in the house is also very useful.
We had a wonderful time in NOLA, and enjoyed the home near Oak Street. Everything was as anticipated, the home was clean and comfortable. It was very close to the street car and my daughters house. I would stay there again if the need comes up. Thank you Lenora for the use of you cute place-Dawn
Great location in Uptown New Orleans, especially if visiting with car. Always a good parking place on site. Interesting neighborhood with dozens of nearby restaurants, bars and shops. Spacious home for 2 visitors with nice furnishings. Street car on Carrolton Ave is under repair, but sheduled to reopen next year.
We stayed at Bon Temps for a last minute NOLA weekend, and had a great time. The house is only a half block from Oak St., which meant dinner at Jacques-Imo's and coffee at Rue De La Course in the morning. The St. Charles streetcar was only a 5 minute walk away, and we used it to head over to the French Quarter.
The house fit three people with no problems. We used the main bedroom and the queen pullout couch. Everything was clean and well cared for, and the kitchen was reasonably well stocked for cooking. Sadly, the heat kept us from spending any time on the screened porch.
We would be happy to use Bon Temps as a homebase for future NOLA trips.
