House dating from the beginning of the 1900s, in the Historical houses district in Deauville, just in front of Jean Gabin's house (famous french actor), and on the other side in front of Isadora Duncan 's House. Charming with its typical wood colombages, and a very nice garden, decorated with taste, once in a french decoration magazine (you can imagine, so !).
Very well located, just 2 Streets behind the Hotel Royal Barrière, at 250 m from the Deauville Casino, 200 m from the center of the beach (you'll have the possibility of getting (included) some beach sun chairs, we have a cabin with some Inside, in front of the famous "planches de Deauville).
At 100 m from all the main shopping stores and restaurants.
The owner house will be leaving in the 1st floor, and you'll have the 2 nd floor entirely for you, with 1, 2, or 3 rooms, for 6 people in all, a bathroom with toilets, a TV room.
We know every good addess, good restaurant, and great place to visit (in ou outside of Deauville, like Honfleur, Trouville, Houlgate, Cabourg...and all the small nice typical villages), and it will be our pleasure to indicate you any information you could need !
Our house is yours but some of the appliances and decoration are fragile so please, be careful when using them (for instance automatic closing window system for the night), and leave the place as you will have found it.
Olivia and her family welcomed us into their extraordinary, ‘period’ home in the heart of the ‘old town’ Deauville. We took advantage of all there was to see and do in Deauville, and in the nearby Norman countryside and coastal areas. Side trips to Trouville, Étretat, Honfleur, and throughout upper Normandy ended up being part of a tour of Impressionist art. (After returning to Paris, we were compelled to continue the trek, visiting the Museé D’Orsay and Giverny!) Otherwise, we are still debating which is better… the amazing seafood of Normandy or the cheese stall at the (DAILY!!) farmer’s market. Our accommodations at Olivia’s were very comfortable and spacious, with nice beds and linens. We could choose to interact with the family – dining on the terrace and practicing bad French with Olivia’s charming and patient father. One also has the option of hiding away in the privacy of the spacious upper floor. (good for recovering from a bit of jetlag). I would highly recommend a visit with Olivia and her family. Bon alors, we never did get to the racetrack, but it was sure was fun to see the racehorses passing by the house in the early morning on their way to the hippodrome. I suppose we will just have to visit our new found oasis again sometime. Thanks Olivia, to you and to your family.
It was a very nice stay in a classic Deauville villa. Olivia was a friendly and accommodating host who was also very helpful in discovering the surroundings. We felt very welcome. The room was charming and clean. We could even choose among three different rooms.
