Retreat to Beaufort House in the beautiful Dublin mountains, an ideal base for exploring Dublin and the stunning scenery of County Wicklow (car essential).
My home, located in the valley of Glencullen, set 300 metres above sea level, it offers you a spacious private double room with a comfortable king size bed and a self help continental style breakfast, consisting of fresh fruit, muesli, brown bread, jam/ marmalade and a variety of teas and coffee. If you have any special dietary requirements, such as dairy free, coeliac etc I will do my best to accommodate you. You also have full access to the Yoga studio with beautiful views over the valley. Watch the sun light up the valley on your early morning practice or equally watch the light fade as the sun drops down behind the mountains.
From your base here in Glencullen you can easily explore the wonderful walk of the Wicklow Way at it passes by the front door of the house and Irelands heightest pub and restaurant Jonnie Fox’s is located 1.5 kilometres away. A pleasant 10 minute drive through the beautiful Pine forest will bring you to Killakee viewing point with its panoramic views of Dublin city and bay. A 15 minute drive takes you to the village of Enniskerry in Wicklow and to the stunning Italian and Japanese gardens of Powerscourt Estate, a further 30 minutes from Enniskerry will bring you to Glendalough with its two lakes a monastic site and trails and walks in beautiful scenery.
Glencullen is situated on the outskirts of South County Dublin yet within easy driving distance of the city centre or you can park your car at one of the local park n’ ride facilities and hop on the LUAS, Dublin’s tram system that will take you into Stephens Green.
Schitterende locatie, gastvrijheid ten top, een beter verblijf na een lange dag stappen konden we ons niet inbeelden!!!
Highly recommended! This is a super base for exploring Dublin and the surroundings. Ken is a super host and a great guy. His house is really beautifully located with spectacular views. The house is huge, bright and clean and there is a yoga room we got to use. Very comfy bed! You do need a car, but rentals are cheap in Dublin.
My wife and I were very fortunate, to have the pleasure of staying with Ken this summer. From the first moment Ken made us feel very welcomed, comfortable, and at home. His brand new self build (!) energy saving house is spacious and furnished with good taste, with lots of character and all the amenities we could have asked for. Ken is a great guy and a proficient and amiable host. We recommend Kens home highly for anyone travelling through Ireland in the future. It's a good starting point for walks on the Dublin Mountain Way and the Wicklow Way. Thank you again Ken, Ruud & Hille
