The Space

This Beautiful 1930's home in the Historic Elizabeth neighborhood has the ideal location. You are a short walk or bike ride to all the good food, arts and music. The front porch overlooks the frequented paths to both the Plaza Midwood and Elizabeth hang outs. Great for having drinks with friends before heading out. The bedrooms french doors open to the back deck for more secluded out door lounging or a larger gathering and cook out.
I will be happy to help you plan activities around charlotte to suit your tastes and fill you in on all the special events.
In the morning you will have a delicious vegetarian meal of your choice (indulgent to healthy) served in the breakfast nook, in bed or by the sun or shade on the porch. You may also choose from a variety of teas, fresh squeezed juices, french pressed coffee and espresso drinks.
If you are feeling creative in your down time at the house you are welcome to the music and arts room. There you will find a set up complete with a full drum set, bass and guitars as well as paints, pastels and pencils.

  • We had such a great night in Charlotte thanks to Baxter and the wonderful house we stayed in. The house breathes positivity, music and creativity and is only a short walking distance from bars, restaurants and stores. If this house is available during your stay in Charlotte look no further!

  • Lovely neighborhood and house; great response and support from hosts in a last-minute situation. I felt welcomed at "at home."

  • A short-lived trip to Charlotte, when we should have settled in for a while. Baxter is the consummate host with a real sense for people. And her digs! If you decide to stay, which you should, camp out on her porch or in the living room; there's plenty to take in. A treat. Next time we'll stick around.

  • Booked the house for a few sponsors and publicist that were in town for the concert at the Visulite theatre. There was some confusion about getting the key because Baxter was out of town and had an associate helping. But everybody seemed pleased when I checked on them after the show. I would definitely recommend to a small group that was traveling to Charlotte to catch a great indie band at Snug Harbor, or just looking to rage it out with dinner, dancing, drinking in Plaza Midwood.

  • Great location, huge yard for the dog. We had a wonderful breakfast of bananas Foster French toast. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Safe side street to park on. A side note: it is more of a boarding house than a bed and breakfast. Some residents are permanent. This was unexpected. Nevertheless, a great experience.

  • While we did not get the chance to meet Baxter during our Thanksgiving stay at her sweet home, we were well taken care of. Checking in was flexible and our room had everything we needed plus snacks! Our dogs travel with us and we loved being able to let them right out the french doors of our room to the yard to play. Baxter was easy to reach and communicate with and went out of her way to help accommodate our needs. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Baxter was a great host. My stay was comfy and the place was great. I felt like I was crashing with a friend the whole time. Awesome first airbnb experience, would stay with Baxter again.

  • -"Great place to stay especially if your looking for comfort, relaxation, hospitality, and great food. Baxter was very accommodating and took the time to get to know us, and gave us great advice during our stay in Charlotte. I know we slept better than we would have in a hotel; and on top of that waking up to a delicious breakfast!"

  • My two friends and I stopped by Baxter's house in Charlotte for a couple of nights in May while we were in town for a conference. She was an outstanding host, who got rave reviews for her hospitality and her house's excellent location. Her veggie breakfast in the morning - poached eggs, simmered mustard greens, grits and potatoes - was a tasty work of art and it was obvious that she spent a good deal of time preparing it. Baxter is also really sweet to talk to and was not intimidated to stay up late imbibing with a bunch of business school boys in v-neck t-shirts. Overall, we really couldn't have asked for more and highly recommend her house for a stay in the queen city.

  • Great place, friendly host and super breakfast! The house is in a great location, with restaurants, coffee shops and bars within walking distance. Baxter was very helpful, and gave great restaurant recommendations. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to our friends.
