Great very central place with the most hospitable host Tamara who speaks English and loves having guests at her place. Free pick up from the train station, all through guidance, help in arranging your trips to Lake Baikal, home-made dinners.
Separate bedroom for 2 people (double bed) in 3-room apartment within 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 min walk from the downtown (Kirov Square). It is a clean, cozy and modern apartment with a cheerful and most helpful host Tamara who speaks basic English. There is a computer with Internet and Wifi in your room, breakfast included. Perfect location close to the city center and the public transport stop, comfortable and quiet place (the flat is on the ground floor), pick up upon arrival. Tamara is a great cook so you can order traditional Russian dinners from her. Price will vary depending on youir choice ( anything from Siberian dumplings to pancakes with caviar!)
Tamara's place is just by the old Irkutsk bridge across Angara river, that's 5 minutes by bus to the central Kirov square or 15 min by bus to the central market. Tamara will explain in detail how you get around the city, she is always available on the phone in case you are in trouble!
Tamara was a lovely host! Met me at the train station & walked me back to her apartment close by. She made delicious breakfast but I think she was disappointed by my small appetite :)
Suggested what we should see & do on our trip to Lake Baikal & was just generally very kind and helpful. Even offered to lend me some shoes for hiking as she thought mine were not warm enough.
Thank you for a nice stay Tamara! I will be back for a Summer visit some day :)
Staying at Tamara's for 3 days was great! She was very energetic and talkative, arranged us a nice simple guided trip to Baikal which included a 3-hour train ride, 1-hour hike down to the lake, and a walk along the old circumbaikal rail route. The sun was shining, the lunch was tasty, we had good exercise. Back in Irkutsk, Tamara fed us well and the place was very comfortable and clean. Our outbound train left at 9:20pm and Tamara allowed us to stay right up until the moment we left - no mandatory 12pm checkout!
We had a really nice stay at Tamara's. The place was really warm, airy and clean and the host was very helpful. She made us a fee breakfast and dinner which was a nice surprise. Def recommend to stay.
Great days at Tamara's home where we really felt home! We had kacha and blinis for breakfast, she show us what to see in Irkoutsk. It was very cold during the day and very nice to come back in a warm house at night and having great russian dinner with Tamara! We even watched iced skating on tv together. Thank you and we will definetly come back at your place next time in Irkoutsk!
Hello. We definitely recommend Tamara's homestay. She has been so nice with us. She took care of us like a mother. She helps us to organise our trip to baikal lake and were cooking typical russian meal for us everyday. She even provided us with a SIM card just in case we get lost and provided us a thermo with warm tea. We even could wash our laundry as well. Thanks to her we had a very good stay in Irkutsk. Thank you again Tamara!!

The journey was great and pleasant.
We were in Tamara's house, very quiet and near to the center of Irkutsk (10mn by tram and 20/25mn by walk).
The railway station is very close ; like 5 mn walk.
Tamara is very helpful and and a great cook. A lot of her food comes from her garden!
We had really good time staying with Tamara. She is really nice and talkative . She has great passion for the Baykal . Her food and the whole atmosphere made us feel at home.
I was visiting Tamara with my family, my wife and my 2 children (age 1 and 5). From the beginning until the end it was a wonderful stay. Tamara picked us up at the train station and was walking together with us to her home near the station. During the whole stay she gave us a journey through the Russian traditional cuisine most of the ingredients came from her garden / dasche. The most remarkable thing for us was that our kids liked her very much and felt like comfortable as we did in her home.
Tamara is a very friendly and nice person. She was very helpful and we had very interesting discussions about the Baikal region and the warm Siberian people. Her apartment is very comfortable and I would definitely recommend her as a host!
Encore merci !!!!
