If you prefer to shop for groceries, there is a Giant and a Safeway within walking distance, and a bit farther is a Whole Foods, and a Yes Organic Market.

  • We were only one day. Jay was very kind to us. The place turned out neat and very comfortable.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Alexa and Jay's house. The room is exactly as described. The location is great being only 5 minutes walk to the Metro. Although I didn't see Alexa and Jay all that often, they are very friendly and approachable.

  • It was excellent to stay with Alexa on this cold March day. The apartment is cozy and it was wonderful to have the freedom to work on the dining room table. Alexa is a very generous and welcoming host. The locations is great and very convenient for the subway. I hope to come back.

  • Very Nice place to stay! 10-15 mins walk to subway station. Very clean and warm place to leave.

  • Thanks Alexa & Jay for a very comfortable (although short!) stay. We booked just two days prior and A&J were very accommodating to our schedule. The bedroom and bath were just as advertised and Alexa, Jay, and Ladybird are very friendly and welcoming. No complaints!

  • Alexa & Jay were the most gracious hosts. The space was clean and exactly what I expected from seeing the pictures. They were most helpful and the location was convenient. Also- they made it really easy for me to keep my schedule and not feel like I was infringing by providing me with my own set of keys. Loved this place and would definitely come back in future!

  • The place is very easy to find just 5 minutes from subway stop. I actually saw only Jay who was nice and the room and the apartment is very nice and comfortable.

  • Starting with the positives:

Communication was excellent - Alexa was very responsive and forthcoming with arrival info, etc.

Unfortunately, the listing was not at all what I expected. The sheets were not fresh and the apartment was very shabby, bathroom (shower, floor, toilet, sink) were all dirty. I was the first person up and out of the house and found that the apartment door had been left unlocked for the evening.

  • We had a great experience staying at Alexa and Jay's home. The room was cozy and clean. Alexa was very friendly and helpful.

    March 2014
  • Alexa and Jay were very accommodating despite my very last minute request to stay. Everything was very clean and organized with a welcome letter and guide to the local area. Lady Bird (the corgi) is a delight! I didn't really spend any time with my hosts however as they both were busy with work while I was there.
