Belmont Park is just four blocks away -- great for kids. Downtown Belmont has excellent restaurants and a coffee shop within easy walking distance.
There's a bus a few blocks away. And it's an easy walk to downtown where the bus station is located.
For graduation weekend we prefer a two-night minimum. Other than those dates, one night stays are fine. Thanks!
Please treat the house as if it were your own.
Please leave it as you found it.
No pets, no smoking.
Beds will have clean linen, blankets. Bathroom will have 5 clean towels.
Help yourself to coffee! And to spices/salt/pepper for cooking.
Help yourself to any vegetables or herbs from the garden.
Do not use the fire bowl in the back yard. Charlottesville's laws about fires are complicated, and the Fire Department will likely show up... we know this from experience :-)
Enjoy your stay!! and please don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
Suzanne was wonderful! She left the key for us, making getting in the place super simple. Check-in and check-out times were very flexible which relieved a lot of stress for us when planning our short visit. Her house is very cute and was great for our stay!
Suzanne was wonderfully hospitable. Her home is a true gem, the perfect combination of warmth and welcome. We loved walking into Charlottesville and around the neighborhood. It's close to lots of great restaurants, coffee shops and fun things to see and do. Not to mention it's literally seven minutes from Monticello! I would highly recommend staying at her home.
I had the best weekend in Charlottesville staying at Suzanne's place. She was responsive and the home was exactly as pictured (minus a bit of rearranging). It is in a great location and walkable to Belmont - my group ended up driving because it was cold and rainy. The home was very clean and had the perfect amount of space for my group of girlfriends who were gathering for a mini little reunion. THANK YOU SUZANNE!
Suzanne's house was perfect for our weekend in Charlottesville. The place is spacious and the kitchen is beautiful (not that we had much of chance to use it - to many good food options!). Her place was a very short drive to everything we needed and a short walk for some great food (Mas Tapas, in particular). Suzanne was easy to communicate with and check in and out was very smooth even though we were unable to meet Suzanne in person. We had a great stay. Thanks!
Very quick response. Clear instructions on how to get the key. House is charming, clean and easy walk to downtown mall. My 3 friends and I stayed for one night. Two people had to share a bed. One person slept on comfy couch. WiFi works. Easy to find. Quiet neighborhood. Piano in living room. Shower pressure not great and bring your own shampoo/soap if you're picky (for some reason, I felt the soap was a little dilute but it was eco-friendly. None of my friends had problems.). Linens all provided for. Overall a wonderful cozy home to have as home base. Convenient for travel locally- we hike Ivy creek and went to 2 ciderys nearby. All within 20 min drive.
Great location for our quick trip to visit with our daughter at UVA. We were visiting along with my parents to attend events for UVA Family Weekend so it was nice to have all four of us in the same place rather than a big hotel. Convenient to grounds and our daughters sorority house.
I grew up outside of Charlottesville on a small family farm and recently moved back to this wonderful town. After going to college in Massachusetts, I spent time traveling abroad and lived for several years in New England. I am a full-time musician so am lucky to spend much of the year touring around the country and abroad. In my free time (when I'm not on the road) I enjoy gardening, knitting, playing music, and cooking. I do a lot of traveling for work (and have often used Airbnb myself!), so am happy to provide a peaceful, smoke-free, pet-free home to those visiting Charlottesville. I am quite familiar with the town, so please feel free to ask any questions. Best of luck planning your trip!
