Chaton, a guest house in Daiki-cho, Mie Prefecture, is a bungalow nature and cultural experience homestay surrounded by mountains, fields, and rice fields.
At the inn, you can experience harvesting vegetables, cooking rice using a makiwari kamado, cooking meals, pounding mochi, playing Japanese drums and flute, dressing up, and making accessories with traditional crafts and tsumami-zukuri.
For dinner, you will experience Japanese cuisine made with rich and delicious local ingredients.
"Matsusaka Beef Yakiniku and Sukiyaki" is a recommended special menu.
Other activities you can experience in town include authentic soba making, caving and packrafting, the only one in Mie Prefecture, and a small fixed net fishing experience with a fisherman.

A host who is a qualified interpreter will also be your tour guide in the Ise Shima and East Kishu areas.

The space
We have 2 tatami rooms (8 tatami and 6 tatami) available as guest rooms. Futons are available.
The room has air conditioning, a lockable box locker, and storage (chest of drawers and closet).
The 8 tatami room has a veranda where you can enjoy the view of the tea fields in front of the house.
Guest access
As a guest room, you can use either the tatami room (8 tatami mats or 6 tatami mats).
The washroom, bath, toilet, and kitchen are shared.
There is also a private room for the host. Please refrain from entering this room.
During your stay
Basically, the host will be on site during your stay, so please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or requests.
