About This Listing
7 room boutique hotel all with private ensuite bathrooms 5 with Jacuzzi baths. Parking, Wifi, cable tv. We offer our guests the best prices of any downtown hotel while giving personalized service that larger chains can't match. We are in the center of downtown Charlottetown with all downtown attractions just steps away.
We are less than a block to the nearest bus stop. Why we consider us unique is that our heritage building offers all the modern conveniences with out losing its heritage charm. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are quite large. We offer guests the very best service and conversation as we are a small boutique hotel we can spend more time with guests one on one.
We expect guests to respect our no smoking policy.Quiet and respectful.
The Inn is located in the center of Charlottetown near the confederation building and across from a pub. The room was a bit small but had all the amenities you would need; hair dryer, iron and board, etc. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub which was an unexpected surprise. The bed was a queen size and comfortable. The room also had a ceiling fan and an air conditioning unit. There was not fuss for check-in and we did not here any of the other guest. Overall it was great for one night.
My husband I stayed at the Tailor Shop 2 nights- first time in Charlottetown and PEI. The staff was nice, location great, price decent. Rooms, just ok. Don't understand why the owners don't do some updating of the decor. While it was clean, the room we stayed in felt very dark and run down somehow. It's just aesthetics- overall value was pretty good considering how expensive other places in town were. If you're looking to spend your money on dinner definitely try the Lobster Row House just a few blocks from the Tailor Shop. Is fabulous!
My stay at Gary's hotel was incredible. It's got all the amenities of an Econo Lodge, but way more spirit. The whole house is full of character, and only minutes away from the main downtown area of Charlottetown. After forgetting a phone charger (present from my sister) at the hotel, they not only found it, but also promised to send it to me. If I'm ever in Charlottetown again, I know where i'm staying.
Our host was very friendly and informative about sightseeing in Charlottetown. Love the location of this delightful B&B, and the characteristics of our room. Bed is very comfortable as well. Recommended completely.
The location is good. The room we occupied had a queen mattress that dipped in the center. Also the 15+ year tube TV was terrible. The TV and the bed need to be thrown out. I understand the hotel was purchased three years ago as a new venture but these improvements are essential for decent accommodations.
The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown, which was a huge convenience for my partner and I. During our stay we were able to leave our rental car in the parking lot and walk to Victoria Row, Peakes Quay, the waterfront, and the venue for the wedding party we were attending. This really allowed us to enjoy Charlottetown to the fullest extent.
However, we were not impressed with our room. Gary did accommodate my request to have a room that would allow us to lay our luggage out comfortably, and he did tell me that the room did not have the large bathroom that other rooms in the hotel have. That being said, our room (#1, on the ground floor at the foot of the stairs) was musty, the furnishings were worn, and the bathroom was very cramped (the towel rod was located IN the shower, which I found baffling). There were also cobwebs on the ceiling fan and along the closet, which the front desk attendant didn't seem too apologetic about when I told him (he said that "we don't have spiders"). The floor didn't seem clean either, as evidenced by the black tissue paper I observed when wiping up some water that spilled on the floor from the iron. We found it difficult to be truly comfortable in the room, which was unfortunate.
As for the host, Gary was kind and attentive over email prior to our stay, although we never met him in person. And the woman who was at our front desk for most of our stay was very nice and helpful, giving us a map and the lay of the land when we checked in.
Overall, we regretted staying in that room. If we were to stay at this hotel again, we would book a room with a bigger bathroom, which I think gets more traffic and is thus better maintained than the room we were in. However, I think we realized that we really need more modern accommodations when we travel, so this hotel wouldn't be on our shortlist if we returned to Charlottetown. I appreciate the effort Gary has put into the hotel, however it just fell short for us.

I am married to Shelley MacDougall and have 2 kids. I operate a few businesses but value my time with family the most. I like to travel, read, go to movies spend time at the cottage with family and friends. My latest interests are life hacking and as always working out, computers and gaming. My travel style is to stay in mid to upper style accomodations but finding a great price via internet research.
