Set in an old SLO neighborhood and a quick walk to San Luis Obispo's inviting center. Famous Thursday eve Farmer's Market, Old Mission and restaurants. Also, easy access to Hearst Castle, Hwy 1 and many wineries & beaches. Charming cottage feel.

The Space

Lovely 1940 Cape Cod style shingled home - even with a white picket fence. Apartment is the entire lower level & some upstairs, affording great views of nearby volcanic mountains.
Easily walkable to SLO Downtown for Thursday (world famous) Farmer's Market; a California Mission & enticing downtown.
Private entrance with off-street parking & use of a pretty garden for BBQ or evening relaxing. Kitchen includes a toaster/convection oven, microwave and Fiestaware for four.
Delightful neighborhood to walk through with restaurants, grocery & coffee within 3 blocks.

Guest Access

You are welcome to use BBQ and the yard. If you find a fig on the tree, please enjoy! The apartment shares a wall with the main house, but there is full privacy.

Interaction with Guests

You are completely in your own space and I try to knock on door to say, "Hi," in the garden once during your stay. I like to make sure you have all you need and give helpful visitor tips if needed!

The Neighborhood

This is an older SLO neighborhood with houses from about the '40's, so they are all quaint and unique. We have an eclectic neighborhood with professionals, families and a few students. It's a delight to walk in - my kids learned to ride their bikes here and walk the dog.

Getting around

There are many bus stops around and I believe you could even walk here from the Amtrack station (a little over a mile). A taxi would be needed from the Airport, but lots of restaurants, coffee and grocery within 3 blocks to walk to. Off street parking in driveway very convenient.

  • Jacquie's place was great! It was clean and very welcoming. It was a nice, quick walk to downtown and we had easy access to the freeway. Jacquie was very pleasant and hospitable. There was plenty of room for the four of us, and I will definitely consider staying there again!

  • This was my first time using airbnb, and it was a fabulous experience! We booked Jacquie's place for a writing retreat and some relaxing time. We initially thought that with its proximity to the downtown area (10 min walk), we would be mainly hanging out and working in coffee shops there. But Jacquie's place was so charming and comfortable with its two couches and spacious living room that we hung out at the apartment for most of the time. When we arrived, we were greeted with a bottle of wine and goodies in the fridge. Just lovely! With a grocery store being only a few blocks away, everything is convenient. And the Farmer's Market (with yummy food carts) on Thursday night was really fun. While SLO is a bit of a long drive from San Francisco, Jacquie's place is so nice that it was worth it!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Jacquie's apartment. It was cute, clean, and in a good location - you're a quick drive to everything. The pullout bed was comfortable and we were able to comfortably sleep 4 for the weekend. I'd recommend staying here if you're looking for an easy, affordable place in the heart of SLO.

  • My daughters and I loved this airbnb it was definitely our favorite so far. It was clean, neat and nicely decorated. Jacquie was nice enough to leave a bottle of wine and thoughtfully left milk, OJ, bottled water and yummy yogurt in the fridge for our stay. She was quick to respond to any texts and even let us park in her drive way. I would love to come back and probably will as my daughter will be at Cal Poly for the next 4 years at least.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Jacquie's place and would recommend (and already have to family). The place is as cute as the pictures and cuter and very, very clean. The feel of the space is bright and happy, roomy, private and very comfortable (in fact, we spent more time than we planned cuddled up with a blanket, each on our own couches). The furnishings were great and we felt as though had everything we needed, including a kitchenette stocked with a few necessities.
We enjoyed the walk to downtown a couple times for coffee at Linnea's, breakfast at Big Sky and an early dinner and a drink at Novo (sit out on the patio).
SLO is a great town to walk around and relax in and Jacquie's place is perfect to come back to.
We would definitely stay here again.
    Thank you Jacquie!

  • The moment I stepped into the apartment, I said, "Wow!" It is easy to feel at home here, and Jacquie is a great host who is friendly and respects personal space.

The place was spotlessly clean, well furnished, comfortable, tastefully decorated, and quiet. The proximity to downtown SLO is great, too! It would be an easy walk in shoes intended for that purpose. I was dressed up, so I took a cab to dinner at a nice downtown restaurant for less than $8.00 one way.

The bathroom, ladies, is made for us. The shower has great pressure and plenty of hot water. The towel warmer makes you feel like you're in a spa.

There is ample closet space to hang up dress-up clothes and a full-length mirror. The bed is comfortable and the bedding was great quality. The kitchen is stocked with all of the basic needs - and wine glasses so you can enjoy the spoils from your tasting trips!

Jacquie's apartment is perfect for one or two people. I would happily stay here again.

  • My friend and I went to SLO for a girl's weekend getaway. Jacquie's home was just what we needed! It was very comfortable, cozy, and in the perfect location. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it.

  • Just Perfect! Jacquie's apartment is spacious, clean, and comfortable with wonderful amenities! The great room/kitchen area is nicely decorated, super comfortable and has a very nice feel to it. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom are great. The bathroom is beautiful, re-modeled in marble and glass....very tastefully done!

The location is convenient to campus and downtown. I will look forward to staying here again. Perfect for a couple of days or even weeks.
    Jacquie was a lovely host!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Jacquie's. It is very nicely decorated and spacious. Jacquie is very friendly and was fine with us rearranging the furniture to better watch the Forty Niner game!

About
I have lived in SLO since attending Cal Poly and love living here. My husband and I have raised our 3 children in this wonderful old house where we have re-done every surface ourselves. So, I'm a project-girl! We are an active, outdooring family that loves to socialize and have fun.
