The house is up on a fresh hill, in front of the Arbatax gulf, 5 minutes walk from the famous Cala Moresca bay . The apartment is at the ground floor, it has 1 bedroom with a double bed + 1 kitchen with 2 other beds, and a large terrace with barbecue.
The price varies depending on the season and ranges from 340 euros per week for the period from May to October, up to 650 euros per week for the period of July and August.
We request at least a 2 weeks stay.
The house has a tv, air conditioned, washing machine. The house is in the center of the village of Arbatax, where you can find various cafes, restaurants with cheap tipical sardinian food, a supermarket, a pharmacy and some shops.
In the same villa there are also 2 other apartments with 4 beds, a garden and another terrace each that can be booked by your friend if you want to stay together.
Tha village has 2 different seaside both marvellous and very famous: "cala moresca" and "le rocce rosse" .
Just (website hidden) them to see how wonderful they are!
Near Arbatax there are also a lot of sand beaches and some very interesting naturalistic places. ( see for instance "Cala Goloritzé", "Pedra Longa" or "Parco del Supramonte")
My father is a local fisherman and he can bring fresh fish for you each day you request it (and also cook it for you in the traditional way.. if he likes you).
It is also possible to take some tour boats that daily leave from the village to make a boat trip along the coast or even take the pitoreque green-train "Trenino verde" to explore and taste the food of the wonderful mountains where Sergio Leone filmed his "spaghetti western".
We were supposed to stay in Daniela's apartment 1 week and we end up staying 1 night because after arriving there we find out that the 2 bedrooms we've booked (as written on their airbnb page) was actually 1 real bedroom and the pictures were we can see 2 bedrooms were actually a mix of all the apartments pictures which is confusing. There was at the entrance of the apartment the kitchen, a table kitchen AND A SINGLE bed 3 metres away from a nice big GAZ tank. So basically our 3 years old daughter was supposed to sleep in the kitchen, 3 metres away from a gaz tank (not mentioning that we wouldn't be able to use the kitchen while she was sleeping) during 1 week and us in a bedroom....for 759 €! This is not what we booked and not worth the 97€/night...
Daniela's parents tried to suggest a solution because they saw that the information displayed was not correct but the whole concept of the apartment setting was odd: bedroom window view of the sea was actually the industrial harbor and you have to bend your head to see that + you can see the parents vegetable garden 1 meter away from the window+ no privacy on the terrace as it is the entrance of the other apartment next door and a back door of Daniela's parents +no view other then the neighbors and they are quite noisy....Unfortunaly the apartment was not very clean: hairs and sand in the the shower, the sink and on the floor...All in all our experience in Tortoli/Arbatax was short and disappointing. Can't really judge the area but we were in Cala Gonone just before and this place was a huge WHAOU! Comparing to Cala Gonone, Arbatax and Tortoli are quite industrial and a bit "dead". Daniela and her parents were fair with us and we were able to alter our reservation and look for another place elsewhere (we went back to the Golf or Orosei!). I think the problem is that the displayed information and description does not really reflect the reality of the place...and it is really over priced for what it is even if it is high season.
Sicuramente consigliato!
This Arbatax town-centre apartment (1 of 4 apartments in a free-standing building; 1 apartment is Daniela's parents' apartment- they spend their summers in Arbatax; 3 are rented out on AirBNB) is in a good location. On-street parking in front of the house. Great outdoor shower (downstairs), shared by all apartments. Outdoor washing machine, shared by the 3 other apartments, on terrace right outside our apartment (the one with the yellow kitchen, in the listing pictures). Little privacy on the apartment terrace, as it is shared with 1 other apartment, for which it is also the access route to their apartment. It is also the back entrance to Daniela's parents' apartment, and it has the fairly heavily used washing machine on it. It is a lovely terrace, with a nice breeze, and a nice view over the mountains in the distance. Ask Daniela's parents for the deck chairs shown in the listing, if they are not there. There is airconditioning in the kitchen, not in the bedroom. The bedroom gives onto Daniela's parents' small vegetable garden- which they tend in the morning, and has a view over the Arbatax harbour (v quiet industrial harbour& a marina) and the beaches. No need for airconditioning with the window wide open at night, as there is always a breeze as your are right on the coast. Communication with Daniela's parents-the caretakers- is v limited as they only speak Italian, and a few words of French (D's mother). Not an issue generally. Unfortunately, in our case there was a need for detailed communication- which went badly wrong. Despite this, we recommend the apartment itself and its location. A good base for exploring the fabulous East coast of Sardinia. Nice restaurants nearby. Especially Da Lenin (make reservations), a short drive away. Easy to reach from Cagliari and Olbia airports- great motor (website hidden): when we stayed at the apartment, all of the other guests (Germany, Austria-Canada, Italy) were lovely people.
