  • This was my first experience at airbnb and it was a great experience. Had a fabulous view from the house, the bed was extremely comfortable, the weather was fairly nice and Janice was always there when you needed her. She was super friendly and her granola and fruits were delicious and healthy.
She helped me with planning my NY trip, and even letted me stay late in the afternoon until my night flight.
I strongly recommend this place especially if you are visiting alone !!

  • One of my best Airbnb stays - Janice's house is beautiful, the room is lovely and very comfortable, quiet and private. I love the neighbourhood - peaceful and full of interesting houses and well tended gardens. Janice is the perfect hostess, always helpful and informative, great to chat with, just wish I had more time to spend with her. Will definitely recommend this to any single women travelling in SF.

  • My stay at Janice's place was simply wonderful. The neighborhood is extremely calm and the safe. The bus stop is just in the corner so is quite easy to get downtown quickly. The house is very clean and the bedroom is remarkably lovely and the private bathroom inside is an extra. The views from the kitchen over the bay are unbelievable
Janice is an outstanding host, the details and suggestions she gave about what to do in the city improved my trip significantly. Nothing to say about the granola she prepared for breakfast...simply delicious. Janice is an interesting and knowledgeable person and we had delightful exchanges.

  • This was my first airbnb experience, and now I'm convinced that this is a great way of lodging. Such a beautiful place to stay, in a nice area, and Janice is so nice and so interesting to talk to. I felt at home from the first moment, and wish I could have stayed longer than my three nights.

  • Janice is incredible. As a visitor from a country no English speaking, it is difficult for me to find the best expression to describe how nice Janice and her place is. She is such an elegant lady with good taste to art and life style. I learned a lot of thing from her about the city's history, architecture and local customs. To be there, It is easy to find her home is indeed a work of art: pretty, clean and full of aesthetic temperament. Janice is a hostess full of consideration and love. It was very lucky for me to be hosted by her. She is a person deserve to be regard as a life long friend.

  • I spent three nights in Janice's charming Noe Valley home. Her warm welcome and helpful advice for navigating the city made my stay especially nice. The location is perfect, with public transportation available at the corner and fabulous views from the breakfast room. (And the breakfast of homemade granola, fresh fruit and yogurt was perfect too!) I enjoyed staying with Janice and highly recommend the experience.

  • Janice is awesome! Great conversationalist, well-read, insightful, sweet and super helpful--the perfect host. A real expert on San Francisco and transportation, Janice even worked out the bus routes for me during the Bay to Breakers race which cuts the city in half. The room is immaculate, beautiful and peaceful with a big comfy bed. The private bathroom is spotless and as charmingly decorated as the room. The neighborhood is great too with everything nearby. And just steps from the bus--so easy to get around! Janice also serves a great breakfast of fruit, Greek yogurt and homemade granola. It was so delightful to chat with Janice and look out at a view of the East Bay. Paradise! Perfect for the solo female traveler.

  • I really enjoyed my stay in Janice Gendreau's beautiful home. The house sits in a very nice area of the Noe Valley neighborhood. It is high on a hill, so you can see some of San Francisco and part of the Bay from the kitchen windows. The bus stop is only one door away, and Muni is just a few blocks downhill from the house. The room itself is lovely, with an old fashioned double bed (with an extremely comfortable mattress), plenty of space for clothes and toiletries and a modern, beautifully decorated bathroom. Janice herself is a very positive, welcoming person. I highly recommend staying in Janice's house for a quiet, relaxed and and lovely visit to San Francisco.

I met some lovely people when I had a B&B a few years back. Several are close friends now. I enjoy assisting travelers with logistics, recommendations, etc. I am curious, friendly, and helpful but not invasive.
