The space
Planning an unforgettable Yosemite adventure? Lucky you! With its iconic trails, rugged peaks, and endless opportunities for exploration, few places in the world offer such an incredible outdoor experience.

Of course, you’ll want accommodations to match your adventurous spirit—comfortable, convenient, and inside the park gates. Serenity Suite is exactly that: a high-quality, well-equipped King Suite designed for an active couple who wants to make the most of their time in Yosemite. At 5,500 feet elevation, Serenity Suite provides an escape from the summer heat on the Valley floor and is just minutes from Badger Pass Ski Area in winter. Whether you’re here for hiking, climbing, birdwatching, or photography, you found the perfect home base for your visit.

Located inside the park gates, in the Yosemite West neighborhood, you’re only 20-30 minutes from top attractions like Glacier Point, Yosemite Valley, and Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. Unlike stays outside the park, you won’t waste time in long lines or have to start your day at dawn just to beat the crowds. Here, your adventure runs on your schedule.

A Best-In-Class Stay for Couples Who Explore
Serenity Suite is of modern construction, built with careful attention to detail and high-end finishes. Guests always rave about the quality of the home, from the exceptionally comfortable King bed to the large covered deck surrounded by towering trees.
You’ll find:
✔ Fully equipped kitchen with quality appliances for easy meal prep
✔ Marble & granite countertops for a polished, high-end feel
✔ Soothing jetted tub—perfect after a long day on the trails
✔ Central air conditioning (a rare luxury in this area!)
Everything is provided—linens, towels, cookware, and dishes—so all you need to bring is your gear, your sense of adventure, and your favorite food and drinks.

As you can see in our pictures, Serenity Suite features an open floor plan with extra-high, lofted ceilings that make the space feel even larger. The design features plentiful natural light and peaceful views of the surrounding forest. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to cook meals before or after your adventures. Outside, a spacious covered deck with a barbecue offers a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or relax with a well-earned dinner after a full day in the park. It’s nearly impossible to find this kind of private retreat, especially oriented to two people, elsewhere in Yosemite and still stay central to everything.

Know Before You Book
✔ Lower-Level of a Thoughtfully Designed Duplex – Serenity Suite is located below our other home, Royal Retreat (designed specifically for two couples). Your space is fully separate and private, including your entrance, deck, and parking area.
✔ Access via 18 Stairs – The entrance to Serenity Suite is down an 18-step stairway, which is extra-wide for easy luggage transport.
✔ Normal Footstep Sounds from Above – As this is a lower unit, you may hear occasional footfall from the home above. We’ve built with soundproofing, and past guests have been satisfied, but please expect some normal sounds of occupancy.
✔ Who This Home is Best Suited For – Serenity Suite is designed for active couples who want an adventure-first experience. If your goal is to stay inside all day or have an entertainment-heavy trip, this may not be the best fit.
✔ Maximum Occupancy – Normally 2 people. Infants under 6 months may be added at no charge. Seasonally, we may allow 3 guests (any age), with an additional charge for the third guest, except for infants under 6 months. You may not use Airbnb's “infant” option for infants between 6 months and 2 years old; they must be booked as children.
✔ We welcome guests from all walks of life and believe in warm hospitality and creating a space where all guests feel valued and respected. We appreciate guests who are considerate and respectful of our home and community.

Technology & Connectivity
✔ Internet & Wi-Fi – We provide top of the line satellite internet, but due to our remote, forested location, performance varies. Live video calls (Zoom, FaceTime, etc.) may not be reliable. Internet Upgraded in August 2023; older reviews reference the old replaced system.
✔ No Cell Service – Like many areas within Yosemite, our home does not have cellular signal. However, we provide a landline phone with long-distance calling and Wi-Fi calling is available.
✔ TV/Entertainment – No cable TV. We offer a DVD library, including Yosemite-related films. You can also stream entertainment using your own accounts (subject to internet conditions), but let’s be honest—you’re here for the trails, not the screen!

Additional Airbnb specific Disclosures:
Disclosures related to COVID 19: We have removed a limited number of soft furnishing items included in pictures to protect you, out of an abundance of caution. Items removed are: 2 couch throw pillows, 1 throw blanket, and 1 thin quilt on bed. These limited items were removed because they are hard to launder and our additional cleaning procedures impact our time available for hard to launder items.

Disclosures related to Airbnb "Travel issues": Our home is located in the mountains, in a natural and rustic environment. The following "vermin" may be present inside the home: Flies, ants, spiders, scorpions, mice and chipmunks. The presence of any of these does not constitute a "travel issue" as you are advised they may be present. With regard to mice and chipmunks, we have a regular pest control service and we consider trapping and removing a high priority. Nonetheless, they may be occasionally present. Construction of the home is such that rodents only enter as a result of guest negligence through leaving doors open. Keeping doors closed when not in use will limit or eliminate the entrance of pests. Presence of ants is rare and owners set ant traps during any seasonal resurgence of ants. Owners cannot guarantee the home is 100% free of any vermin/pests.

Gas Fireplace: the use and operability of this amenity is not promised or guaranteed, as the gas fireplace does not constitute the primary heat source for this home. In the event of non operation of this unit, guests will contact owners and owners will attempt a repair. If owners cannot self-repair, a repair will be scheduled, however, commercial repair generally take 3 weeks to schedule.

Guest access
We require a signed rental contract and agreement, which has our policies, including rules for our fire-risk area, food storage, and other details. We also require a listing of the names of guests who will stay in the home as part of this signed contract and a contact address for the primary guest. Entry codes are provided after the signed contract is returned, with an image of renter's ID. The details of the contract are effectively identical to our house rules disclosed in this listing. Guests must complete these additional booking procedures within 48 hours of booking. Guests who do not prefer to sign this agreement and/or provide ID must cancel within 24 hours of booking to receive a refund, or normal cancellation policies apply.

Other things to note
Check in time is 4 pm. Check out time is 11 am.

Cell service: There is NO cell service at our home, but we provide a landline for communication.

Internet Connection: We provide top of the line satellite internet, but due to our remote, forested location, performance varies. Live video calls (Zoom, FaceTime, etc.) may not be reliable. Internet Upgraded in August 2023; older reviews reference replaced system.

Maximum occupancy: The standard maximum occupancy is 2 people, regardless of age. Infants under 6 months can be added to this maximum at no charge. Please note that Airbnb's "infant" option cannot be used to add a person without charge, except for one infant under 6 months. Any person over 6 months old must be booked as a child, and charges will apply accordingly. During certain seasons, we may allow bookings for up to 3 people, with a maximum of 2 adults, and a maximum of 3 total individuals of any age, including any under-6-months guests staying free.

Neighborhood highlights

Our neighborhood, Yosemite West is special. It sits high above the elevation of Yosemite Valley and provides a quiet and peaceful escape. When its hot below, or jam packed with tourists, I feel great relief when I arrive in Yosemite West. Birds are chirping and we regularly see wildlife in our neighborhood, including deer, coyote and bears. Its peaceful, yet inside the park gates and close to all the best spots to visit.
