Step into a piece of history at The Boarding House, a carefully restored 1812 home blending timeless elegance with modern comfort. Perfectly situated at Main and 9th Streets in Millersburg’s historic district, this stately residence features a grand front porch, a welcoming foyer with a curved staircase, original hardwood floors, a chef’s kitchen, cozy fireplaces, and serene private suites. With lots of space, it's ideal for larger families and groups.

The space
Bedrooms & Bathrooms:
- All three bedrooms are on the upstairs level.
- Venture up the front, curved staircase to find the Primary Bedroom featuring a king bed.
- Bedroom 2 features two small twin beds.
- The back staircase leads guests to Bedroom 3, featuring a queen bed.
- All three bedrooms feature their own private and full ensuite for ample privacy.

Formal Living Room:
- A formal living room with a beautiful fireplace (currently non-operational).
- Enjoy the elegance and antique pieces in this space.

Chef’s Kitchen:
- The fully equipped kitchen features a large range, farmhouse sink, custom cabinets, and fireside seating. - Just beyond, a private back porch offers an intimate setting for evening conversations.

Dining:
- The eight person dining table in the formal dining room is wonderful for family gatherings or holiday meals.

- The first floor includes a laundry room and a half bathroom.

Guests will have access to the entire house. Off-street parking is available beside the house. There is additional street parking on Main Street if needed.

Private tours of the historic Allen House, a celebrated example of Greek Revival architecture, can be arranged upon request.

Please note that while the fireplaces beautifully enhance the home’s historic charm, they are currently decorative and not in use. As this is a historic property, please be aware that some doorways and staircases may be narrower or smaller than those found in newer homes.

This home is one of five historic residences belonging to Mustard Seed Hill, a breathtaking event and wedding venue located near Lexington, Kentucky, in the heart of the Bluegrass Region. Mustard Seed Hill also offers eight beautifully designed suites, each providing a cozy, boutique-style stay within the historic campus.

Christmas at Mustard Seed Hill
Each December, the Mustard Seed Hill estate transforms into one of Kentucky’s most beloved holiday attractions. Guests staying during the Christmas season receive complimentary admission to the festivities, which include dazzling light displays, artisan markets, live music, and the renowned Gingerbread Competition, along with cozy campfires, carriage rides, Holiday Tea and Supper Club evenings, and the Holiday Tent Cafe with local food trucks. The air fills with the scent of pine and gingerbread as fire pits glow across the grounds, creating a warm and welcoming place to gather. The campus becomes a storybook setting of creativity and wonder.
