This detached studio in the private courtyard garden of our original and traditional Bodrum stone house is ideal for 1 or 2 guests, situated in a unique quiet location, yet right in the heart of Bodrum's vibrant old town, close to bars, restaurants, and sites, and just 200m from the beach.

The space

In 2016 we are offering some reduced rates for the studio so use the pricing tool to get an accurate price for your dates!....

This traditional Greek stone house is located in Bodrum's old town. The main house and studio apartment guest room have been renovated by us, a young British-Turkish family. The location is perfect for all entertainment and amenities; just a very short walk from the sea and nearest beach, and lets you get a taste of real laid back Bodrum life in a pretty and friendly old neighbourhood full of character and atmosphere. Our studio is a great place to base yourself while exploring Bodrum and the Bodrum peninsula.

The house in its traditional walled garden, is very quiet considering its proximity to restaurants, bars, boutiques, local market & shops, and the hustle and bustle of the old town. There are sometimes art exhibitions in the streets neighbouring the house, as well as a wine bar, Spanish restaurant, a great pizza place, and other traditional Turkish restaurants, such as the atmospheric local fish market and cafes, all within minutes walk.

Just two streets back from the beach front (great for a morning swim especially, when the beach is almost empty), amongst narrow streets of bourganvillea-covered white -washed stone houses, our studio room is ideal for 1 or 2 people.

The landmark Bodrum Castle of the Knights of St John and its award winning Museum of Underwater Archaeology in the harbour are a 10 minute walk. The Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, is also close by. The world class Milta Yacht Marina with designer shops, yacht club, cafes and live music is a 15 minute walk along the harbour at the opposite end of the bay of Bodrum. All local amenities such as groceries, hairdresser, hamam, pharmacy, fish market, fresh fruit and vegetable stalls, ATMs, & post office, are within a 10 minute walk from the house. The twice weekly local market/ bazaar is a 10 minute walk away. Other markets are held on most days at other locations on the peninsula.

Guest access

Guests share the patio garden with the main house, where our family live (you can get a look at the main house in the photos). The studio itself is a mini bungalow detached from the main house. Inside it is simple, clean, and furnished with a comfortable divan that converts into a large king size bed. There is A/C, hot water and a small kitchen area with sink, mini fridge, kettle and electric Turkish coffee maker. There is NO stove or oven. The small private shower/ WC 'wet room' adjoins the main room.

Interaction with guests

90% of the time we are here to welcome our guests, give keys and recommendations on what to do and where to go. On the rare occasion that we cannot be here to let you in, a friend will be here to meet you. Do look at our guidebook here on our profile page for a few ideas on where to go locally for food, fun and relaxation.

If you have special interests or specific things that you want to do whilst in Bodrum, we will do our best to give you information on where and when things take place, and offer our recommendations.

Other things to note

Our rates change according to season and if we have last minute availability often we offer reduced rates so do check for the latest prices. The price of the studio is advertised for 1 person but we have an extra charge for the second person. This is because we like to be able to offer singles the option for a cheaper room when usually they will be obliged to pay a double room rate at other hotels and pensions.

We try to be flexible with check-in and check-out times, and plan this with each guest in advance via messaging. If your departure from Bodrum is late in the day and you have checked out in the morning, there are occasions when we can keep your bags here for the day to be collected by you later. Unfortunately sometimes this is NOT possible.

Likewise, if we have guests leaving in the morning and you are due to check-in that day, we will need a little time to have the studio ready for you. In these cases the studio is available after midday. In all cases we do our best!

The studio apartment advertised is located in the garden of our home. We are a young British-Turkish family living full time in Bodrum, working and schooling here. Jess works freelance and Can is a yacht skipper. We have 2 children aged 9 and 4 yrs. The guest studio is close to the main house but is a separate/ detached space. If you are wanting to visit Bodrum, stay in a relaxed, homely atmosphere, get to know the town from the inside, and have the chance to experience something other than a hotel, villa, or hostel, our studio is ideal.

Although Jess was out of town when we got there, Can was more than helpful the night we got in. He was readily available to help us out, but we were gone most of the time, so there was no need. The studio is in an excellent location, central with easy access to the main road filled with shops, restaurants, and the like. The room was just as portrayed in pictures, with a cute little bathroom and good air conditioning. The room was definitely tight, but we were very happy with our stay and have no complaints.

Good room, great family, and a memorable experience in the heart of Bodrum. I wholeheartedly recommend this rental to singles or couples looking for a cost-effective and centrally located base of operations in the city center. The room itself is basic, but very comfortable and with all the necessities. The major selling point of this home is the incredible location just minutes from the marina, restaurants, bars, and all the other good things Bodrum has to offer. This was my first trip to the peninsula and I was thrilled to be able to walk everywhere – in fact, I didn’t spend a penny on taxis or buses my entire stay.

The garden studio is cozy, quaint and full of character. It is perfectly located in a safe area; within minutes you have access to shops, the waterfront, restaurants and bars, yet still feel removed from the center of it all. Jess and her family were warm and welcoming and I very much enjoyed conversing with them, to include the girls and cat. Jess took great care to compile online information for guests and was communicative and open throughout my stay. I would recommend the garden studio to anyone looking for a chilled out place in a prime location. Cheers, Jess!

I am UK born and grew up in and around London. I have been in Turkey for 15 years and live with my husband who is a captain and rope access technician. I work as a freelance writer. We have 2 children. We love living in the heart of Bodrum's old town in one of the town's original houses. We love the sea and are lucky to be just a few minutes walk from the beach.

The atmosphere in our home is laid back and informal, while we are also pretty busy working and being parents. For us it's a pleasure to meet people from all over the world and share our little piece of Bodrum with them. As hosts, we are happy to recommend places to go and things to do in Bodrum.
