My boyfriend and I had a lovely time in Galway going to the arts festival, the accommodation was superb and beautifully decorated. Lovely bed, comfortable shower, they were even nice enough to bring us some breakfast so that we could eat before we left for the day. It was a lovely experience and we would recommend this place to everyone!
It was a bit tricky finding the place since there was no specific address and our communication somehow failed, perhaps due to airbnb error? The apartment was very clean and well equipped by everything one may want on a travel. The whole landscape around was peaceful and the hosts very welcoming.
These are elegant, impeccably maintained and comfortable accommodations that are exactly as described. Think of a very comfortable five star hotel room, with high end fixtures, a good sized bathroom with shower, a kitchen area with sink, microwave, fridge (stocked with milk, juice, butter, jam), toaster, coffee maker--no cook top. Now think of paying perhaps one third of a hotel cost. Everything is thought through--everything is labelled and explained. (I am thankful for large enough fonts to read without my glasses). Peter and his wife left a pretty fruit bowl in the room, and breakfast appears in the mailbox (this is explained).
The cottage is an atelier on top a a garage, and there are views of very pretty gardens. The property is set back a few meters from a rather busy street (road noise is apparent if you are very sensitive to those sounds), and the area outside of the property is not particularly attractive--flat farm land and light industry. The nearest town is about a 10 km drive, and has some pleasant places to walk, interesting restaurants, and a well equipped supermarket.
We had very little contact with both Peter and his wife, but I would have felt completely comfortable calling on them if I had the need.
Our accommodation was first class and of a very high standard with many extras that made our stay very comfortable. It was a delight to have the lovely fresh fruit and croissants for breakfast in the unique delivery system. Although a bit out of the city, I would highly recommend staying with Peter and his wife.
Angela and Peter are wonderful hosts. They were extremely flexible when we had to change our arrival time and made us feel very welcome. The apartment is beautifully designed and furnished and in impeccable condition. Angela made a great breakfast with fresh fruit salad (!!!) and warm croissants - a very nice touch. I highly recommend staying with Angela and Peter and will be sure to check back in next time I am in town. Thank you!!
Peter met us at his home and was very friendly and welcoming - he and Angela even left us a card and a bottle of champagne since it was our honeymoon! The apartment itself was lovely and spacious with a gorgeous pastoral view, a very comfortable bed, and a great selection of recent DVDs. We appreciated all of the tourist information he and Angela provided, and he was available to answer any questions we had, which made planning day trips very easy. Peter left us fresh croissants and fruit salad each morning, and all of the fixings for coffee and tea were in the apartment; this made for a great start to each day. The location was perfect. While it had a country setting, it was maybe ten minutes to the city center of Galway, and there was easy access to the major roads in the area. The only downside was that we didn't have WIFI, although Peter did say we could come to the main house if we really needed to use it.
