Welcome to your jumping off point, for all that San Francisco has to offer. Located across from the Legion of Honor and Lincoln Park golf course, this three-level house sleeps 10-12 comfortably.
For the music lovers, the living room features a baby grand piano that one can play while gazing out the bay windows to the forest across the street.
Outside, the world is your oyster with a full-sized/extra-deep jacuzzi, cold plunge, kamado smoker, gas grill, and two patio levels to relax and unwind.
The space
Spread across three levels, our home in the desirable Outer Richmond neighborhood is a perfect home base for your San Francisco visit. Located across the street from Lincoln Park and the Legion of Honor museum, the home provides easy access to all the city has to offer, while maintaining a tranquil atmosphere to unwind.
Upon entry through the gated foyer, on the first level, you'll see a formal living room, formal dining room, and full kitchen with a 3-seat island, perfect for serving those kids that are up early. Off the kitchen, there is a full bathroom, with standing rain shower. On the south side of the kitchen is a dedicated office with standing 35 inch monitor and printer, if you MUST do work while you're here. Off the dining room is a sun room, with access to the upper patio area and a 55 inch television. The dining room seats 8, but can be expanded to seat as many as 12. Coupled with the ample sleeping areas, this is a great house for two families to split, or to house the entire extended family.
The formal living room boasts a Baldwin baby grand piano that is kept tuned, so the music lovers can tickle the ivories while gazing out the bay window at the forest across the street (keep your eye out for Clarkita, the house hawk).
Up the stairs from from the first level leads to 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a laundry area. The first bedroom boasts a king bed and separate dressing room, which connects to the first bathroom on the second level. Views to the east give an unobstructed view of the San Francisco skyline and views to the north overlook Lincoln Park and you can see the Golden Gate bridge poking out of the trees.
The bathroom connected to the first bedroom has one of the two bathtubs in the house. The other side of the bathroom connects to the second bedroom, which has a queen bed and ample space. The connected bathroom makes the second bedroom ideal quarters for children that may have trouble sleeping far away from their parents. Down the hall, the second bathroom on level two has a standing showing and is connected to the third bedroom, though there is also access from the hall for the fourth bedroom. The third bedroom also has a queen bed and boasts south-facing ocean views of the ocean.
The fourth bedroom on the second level has a twin bunkbed, with a slide down from the top bunk for those so inclined. This room is well equipped for active little ones, with a wall-mounted climbing frame and a full heavy punching bag (not pictured). The laundry area includes Samsung washer/dryer that you can use for your stay.
Down the stairs from the first level takes you to the ground level, which has a separate guest room, gym area, two full bathrooms, another living room, and a kitchenette. This also provides direct access to the lower level deck, backyard, hot tub, and cold plunge.
The ground level guest room includes a queen bed, chaise, and television. The room opens into an intermediate room off of which is the fourth bathroom, with a standing shower. This intermediate room also includes a Peleton, adjustable weights, a weight bench, and foam roller, for those so inclined. This intermediate room connects to the back of the ground level, which is a great room that includes another living room adjoining a kitchenette (fridge, sink, microwave, but no separate stove). The ground level living room includes another TV connected to a PS5 for the gamers in your life. The couch itself is comfortable to sleep on, but if more sleeping quarters are required, a provided air mattress can be used to add two more additional beds.
Off the living room, sliding doors lead to the backyard oasis, which includes a dining table for 8 (pictures will be updated once it arrives), a charcoal kamado grill (for grilling, smoking, and rotisserie) and six-burner gas grill (sometimes you just need to make a fast burger). Off of the deck, there's a small turfed back yard, good for running through the sprinkler or playing catch. The jewel of the backyard is the giant, extra deep jacuzzi, complete with a reclining bench seat to really unwind. And if you get too hot, fear not! Next to the hot tub is a cold plunge with attached chiller to keep your circulation moving and invigorate you for the day ahead.
The ground level deck is connected to the first level patio on the exterior by a spiral staircase, though the first level patio can also be accessed directly from the first level sunroom. The first level patio includes seating for 4, though folding chairs can be brought out from the sunroom as desired.
Parking is easy and straightforward as both sides of the street are free, and there is ample parking given that there are no houses on the north side of the street. We park both of our cars on the street because we use the garage in back as a work studio (it will be used as a storage area during your stay and is not accessible).
The location is ideal for those looking to explore the coastal hiking trails, visit one of our beautiful beaches (Ocean, China, and Baker are all within a 5 min drive or 15-20 min walk), or take in the views from other spots in Lands End or Sutro Baths. Restaurants and shops are plentiful with both the Balboa and Clement corridors just steps away, as is an Andronico's grocery store. In terms of the arts, Legion of Honor Museum is walking distance away and its collection and special exhibits never fail to disappoint (pro tip; there are typically organ concerts on Saturday afternoon).
