About this listing
Cozy private bedroom located in a quiet part Fremont, a very vibrant neighborhood. Includes a private bathroom with shower, wifi, full kitchen access, washer & dryer, and very accessible public transportation to downtown and other parts of Seattle.
This spacious room has a private bathroom and closet, and is fully furnished with a queen bed, desk, chair, and dresser. It's in a townhouse that's tucked away from the street in a quiet residential neighborhood of upper Fremont, the self-declared center of the universe. While quiet and residential, it's a very short walk to 3 major bus lines and the restaurants/shops of Fremont.
-The private 3/4 bathroom is furnished with towels, wash cloths, and shampoo/conditioner/soap.
-Large west-facing windows
-Unlike a lot of Seattle, there is free street parking all around the neighborhood.
-Bicycles can be stored in the garage.
-Full access to the furnished kitchen, which has up-to-date appliances.
-You can use the washer and dryer, with detergent provided free.
-Digital piano in the living room.
-Coffee and tea are complimentary
Interaction with Guests
My girlfriend and I both work full-time, so we can generally only chat in the evenings or on weekends. We live here and can answer questions about the house and neighborhood.
-4 blocks from a cluster of restaurants: Paseo (soooo good!), Uneeda Burger, Via Tribunali, Pecado Bueno, Ha!, Caffe Vita and many other cafes.
-Walk to the heart of Fremont and the canal, as well as to the Woodland Park Zoo and Green Lake.
-Walking distance to 5 grocery stores: QFC, Trader Joe's, and Fred Meyer are 1 mile away. 3 blocks from Marketime Foods, the (smaller) neighborhood store. PCC markets is a half mile walk south.
-Quick access to N 46th St, Fremont Ave, and Aurora Ave / I-99. I-5 is 1.5 miles east via N 45th St.
-A few blocks from Fremont Peak Park, a cute little park with an amazing view of Ballard and Puget Sound.
Public transport here is really great! You can get to a lot of Seattle without any transfers. 3 major bus lines are very close (5, 44, and E):
-1 block from line 5/21: to Greenwood, downtown, SoDo, and West Seattle.
-1 block from line 44: get to Ballard, Wallingford and the University District.
-5 blocks from RapidRide Line E: fastest way downtown if you don't mind a slightly longer walk.
-1 block from the 5E, which doesn't stop until getting downtown. Runs only during commuter hours.
-Some other lines (28, 40, 26) are about a 15-minute walk away.
Other Things to Note
Please note that the room is on the third floor, and there are two flights of stairs--this is not the best place to stay if you have issues with mobility.
Also, please note that we don't have a TV or cable (but can lend you an LCD monitor).
I'm looking for guests who use common sense, are clean, and are respectful of the room and all common spaces.
No smoking or pets.
-Please take off shoes when you come in.
-Please lock the front door when you go out.
-While or after showering, please turn on the vent for about 10 minutes.
Please just ask if there's any rule you are unsure about :)
We had a great stay at Hans house. The room was exactly as described, super clean and comfy. It was perfect to explore Seattle! Highly recommended!
Han's home was great place to stay. Good neighborhood, good location and. clean. Most of all, I like sunshine through the window on the ceiling.
This location was superb! We were free to explore the Fremont Ballard area on foot or by car the whole stay. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, and bathroom was private and great. Just wish there were more towels! Other than that, great stay.
We just got back from our 2nd stay at Hans Sunny Fremont Private bedroom - As on our first visit, Hans was friendly and welcoming, he asked if I needed help with my suitcases. The room is perfect for 2 people, clean and bright. The neighborhood is awesome, I can't say enough about Fremont, a very walkable neighborhood with restaurants and shops nearby, as well as outstanding bus service. This time, we did have a rental car; but it is not really needed. We had it to travel out to Olympic NP. It was not difficult to park on the street, we always found a place. If you are staying in Seattle, though, you don't really need a car. It is easy to take the Bus Route 5 downtown. We would stay here again!
We had a nice stay with Hans and Heidi. They were very friendly and we think it's great that they are able to combine airbnb with their busy jobs. The room is very confortable and it was nice to have our own bathroom. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The nearest bus stop is only a few blocks away so we left the car and took the bus downtown. We would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you!
Comfortable and clean but room was rather small. I didn't feel it was "spacious" as some reviewers have said. A large air conditioning unit on the floor takes up some spact. Also, the bed is only about 12 inches off the floor so it is not for anyone who has trouble getting up and down. Despite that, the bed was comfortable. One review mentioned a large walk-in closet. Not in this room! Just a regular closet. Maybe there is another rental room in the house because a reviewer also mentions a washer and dryer outside the door. We didn't see any washer or dryer nor were we told that by our hosts that we could use one. We also weren't told that we were free to use the kitchen facilities so felt like we would be imposing if we did. The kitchen was a bit messy so maybe it was just as well. Trying to find a parking spot was difficult and sometimes we had to park 2 and a half blocks away, but at least we felt relatively safe in this neighborhood walking that distance late at night. Rarely saw our hosts so we felt we had a good deal of privacy. Did see Hans once when we came in after an evening out. Said hello and he nodded his head which was about as far as the communication went! The room probably could use a luggage stand so you don't have to put your suitcase on the floor. All in all, a clean place to stay with just the basics and not great parking. I would have preferred more communication with the hosts about the use of the kitchen and laundry.
Our host was quite helpful. Texted me his address when I could not retrieve it, carried my bag up the stairs. The room was very clean, if a bit Spartan. Bed very comfortable. Safe and interesting neighborhood. The room is light and cheerful. My only caveat would be for those who have trouble climbing stairs or getting up from a low bed. There was on street parking. We did have to park two blocks away when coming on very late at night.
