  • Shel is a really cool person! Do not hesitate to go to her house, I enjoyed my stay in New York and the area is really good! I suggest you something: if you sleep in the Shel'house, at least go to these concerts because it is beautiful! Hope to talk to you again and keep in touch. See u soon Shel ! And thank you !

  • Good value accommodation that was clean, well maintained and close to the main subway line. The rooms were somewhat cramped, but comfortable enough. A great bed for a low budget.

  • She'll was my first airbnb host. And it was great. Shel is a really nice Guy. He gave me some advice where I have to go for food and grocery's and where the next subway station is.
The apartment is better than every hostel in New York. It was clean and you have free WiFi. And you meet nice people there.
Here my advice: Go there and you can have a nice time in New York.

  • Such a great place to stay!! Shel is very accommodating and the location is both safe and convenient for Brooklyn and Manhattan destinations. If you're looking for a great deal and want to meet an excellent bunch of international travelers then by all means book it!!!

  • The best thing about staying at Shel´s is that you can get all the privacy you want. I needed quiet to plan my every day´s schedule and the living room was a very convenient place to provide me that. It was spaceous and with good wi/fi connection to make all the research on places that I could need.

The environment was calm and the atmosphere between guests nice. We were all understanding to each other when it came to the need of, for instance, turning on a light in the middle on the night or making necessary noise when looking for a bag.

Shel is very helpful too. He recieved two packages that my family had sent me and signed for them when I was not home.

This is a very good place for people who like to plan their trip schedules carefully

  • It is very much like the reviews said it would be. Shel is a real nice guy, and can tell you where to go for food / exploring / night life. The house was warm, cozy, and quiet. Great spot for exploring the city, and the price is awesome. Also there is a creperie nearby called La Paris Dakar, you should absolutely go there for breakfast!

  • Great atmosphere, I enjoyed my stay at Shel's place. The house is in a great position and reaching Manhattan is easy, plus Shel is always available to give you information about Brooklyn and NY. I definitively recommend it.

  • My stay with Shel in Brooklyn was really great. The house has a very laid-back atmosphere and Shel is a really funny, relaxed person. I had a really good time there and I am so happy that this was my first place to stay at in NYC, because this is exactly how a welcome should be :) Thanks!

  • Shels place was absolutely awesome. I stayed here the first day I was in NYC and the last 8 days as well. First off, the price is unbeatable. $20 a night? Try finding a better deal than that! Second, the people who come and go while you stay there are some of the most interesting folks I have met. You meet people from everywhere. If you are down to meet new people and have a good conversation, stay at Shels. Third, the place is spaced out and is very clean. Shel makes sure you have whatever you need for a good stay. One time my keys didn't work and he came right up and exchanged for a set that worked. Shel is also a very cool guy and likes to hang out and have a good time. He I very knowledgeable about the area and will do his best to help you. He plays awesome music, can hold a conversation and he even will bring Coronas up to share!!! I highly recommend this place.

  • Shel has a clean, spacious, and very conveniently located place that's a total bargain on this site! If you're concerned this place is too good to be true, considering the price compared with other places in the area, I can assure you it's not. Book a spot here while you still can!
