Our completely renovated house with movie theater loft and gourmet kitchen is positioned right where South Riverdale meets Leslieville, just ten minutes east of the down town core. Free parking is also available just down the street, a very rare find downtown!

The Space

The soaring 16" Vaulted ceilings above the living and dining room with built in movie screen that can be watched from the loft seating make this home truly unique in Toronto.

Guest Access

You will have your own private bedroom with Queen Bed (freshly laundered sheets and down duvet provided), shared access to our Gourmet Kitchen, Back Yard Barbecue, Movie Theater (Cable, Apple TV, Netflix), and exclusive access to the Washroom with extra large Bathtub/Shower (we have our own en-suite). We have a commercial, tankless water heater, which means there is unlimited hot water!... I read on another listing that people get concerned about this stuff.

Interaction with Guests

We are pretty flexible; always excited to meet and hang out with new people, and also usually out of the house a lot of the time. We'll probably be here in the evening. We also have a small Havaneese dog (Pablo) who doesn't shed and is hypoallergenic... He's likes company as much as we do.

Check in is typically 3pm or later, and checkout is typically Noon. We really only need to stick with this if there is another booking immediately before or after your stay. I'll let you know!

The Neighborhood

Our Neigbourhood is a short walk to Trendy Queen Street in Leslieville; this stretch was reviewed in the New York Times as being "The Brunch Capital of North America". You will also be close to East China town on Gerrard with amazingly inexpensive dining options (I get my hair cut there for $8).

Getting around

We are 3km east of the Toronto Eaton Centre. It's a 10mn streetcar ride into the downtown core and financial district or 10 minute streetcar ride east to the Beach. It's also about 5 minutes to get to the Danforth subway line, and another 5 minutes to Yonge & Boor, Yorkville area for the Museum, High End Shopping, and Celebrity spotting. Travel times by streetcar are actually often slightly slower than by bicycle, which we provide (2) along with locks during the warm seasons, a $30 per bike per day value!

Other Things to Note

In case you missed it: There is FREE PARKING!! (a rare find in Toronto). It's just a few doors down, on Dundas St.

Please Note: We only accept one night bookings within a week of the date. Otherwise, we keep the calender open for multi-night guests as single night bookings, especially on the weekend, often cause vacancy on the adjacent night. Thanks!

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Just prior to our arrival Elizabeth and Eric had to make an urgent visit so they organised friends to met us and introduce us to the master of the house, Pablo. We were grateful to them for there help and giving us direction to the supermarket etc. Quality kitchen, bedroom, lounge and washroom. Car parking was as stated and convenient. We made use of the BBQ and Patio area.
Elizabeth is one who had been blessed with a most pleasant nature and she a credit to her profession.

  • This was a great experience.Eric and Elizabeth were very accommodating and friendly. Their house was pleasant, clean, recently remodeled, and comfortable. The neighborhood has a middle class feel, and seemed quite safe. It was pretty easy to get downtown (about 10-15 minutes) via streetcar. Just beware that there are frequent incidents of track work and detours on the streetcar, so hit up the TTC website frequently. Also, Queen St East was within walking distance for pretty good breakfast / brunch options.

  • Beautifully renovated home. Tastefully done. There are two trams to downtown so moving around is convenient.

Location is interesting. House is located in a tree lined avenue and is residential. Just around the corner is East Chinatown and is lined with Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants. Had a delicious breakfast of dim sum in one of the restaurants and the Vietnamese pho is also very tasty.

As I stayed for only 2N, Eric kindly let me see his home movie theatre in the loft.

If you have a luggage then the only convenient way to the Pearson Airport is by taxi which cost CAD 65 today in smooth traffic. By public transport it is a hassle to go to the airport as you need to walk to a subway, then take a tram and then a bus. If you have luggages then it can be inconvenient unless you are on backpack.

A nice experience to stay in a newly renovated home in Toronto.

    Response from Eric:

Thanks Grace! We're glad you loved our home and the neighborhood. Glad you had a smooth trip to the airport; it's unfortunate that Pearson airport is so far from downtown. Billy Bishop airport is much closer, it's on the island, just a 15 minute, $3 streetcar ride from our house.

  • From the moment I booked, Eric was very nice and helpful and I knew it would be a great experience. On top of that I really want to insist on how meticulous the house was.
Pablo is a very kind dog.
I highly recommend you to stay with Eric & Elizabeth as it was my best Airbnb experience so far.

  • The house was very beautiful, a great location outside of the city and close to the metro, and the room was nice and clean upon arrival. Eric also offered to look for something that I thought I had left behind at their house. However, Eric and Elizabeth were not as helpful as we were hoping when it comes to suggestions for what to do in Toronto. They did have ideas for what to do around their area and gave us directions to where free parking is. We unfortunately couldn't find parking nearby along the area they designated so ended up paying 10 bucks for a spot in a parking lot nearby.

    Response from Eric:

I'm so sorry, McCall! You showed up so late for your one night stay and left before I saw you in the morning... You had mentioned you were just stopping through on your road trip and I didn't realize you were planning to spend more time in the city; I wish you had asked! We actually have a map with all the city's highlights that we print off for our guests. The reason we only mentioned some of the famous brunch spots in the area was because you said you had a ten hour drive the next day... Also, There are several other streets in the area with free parking, I wish you had told us, I would have gladly come with you to secure a free spot... Sorry we didn't have a chance to get to know you better, please stop by next time your in Toronto so we can make it up to you!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Eric´s House. The Bed was very cozy and one of our best ones during our north america tour. A big plus is the awsome bathroom you have on your own. I really appreciate little things like the free (and also very good) shampoo. It was always fun to have a chat with them and we absolutly loved the dog :) We decided last-minute to go to toronto, so the map and suggestions eric gave us were a big help and made our trip. We really felt very welcome at there home and would stay there any time again.

  • This was my first time using Airbnb, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The place was exactly as described, and the central location was perfect. Eric was a great host - he offered useful tips for getting around the city on transit, and places to dine in the area. I would definitely stay here again!

    Response from Eric:

I'm so glad we made a positive first impression :)
