When we arrived at Marcos place before we even stepped foot on the property we were greeted by who would be our our new best friend in Ubud, Andy! With a huge smile and and excitement he grabbed our bags and directed us through the private gate to the breathtaking 3 room villa we would call home for the next 4 nights. This place is beyond beautiful being completely surrounded by tranquil green lush rice fields. The property itself has a vast array of trees, plants and fruits all complimenting each other with rich color and vibrance. The rooms are amazing with so many intricate details throughout each villa. The outdoor but private bathrooms and showers were one of the highlights. The pool is perfect and clean. We did have an ac unit break on one of the rooms which took a couple days to fix. Keep in mind this place is not right in the heart of downtown Ubud but this was something we liked. Renting a motor bike for about $5.00 US a day is the way to go, as the market place is less then a ten minute ride away. Andy and staff were what really sets this place apart from the others! He arranged breakfast each morning, and always did his best to answer the many questions we had. He arranged for our bike rentals and even a laundry run when we were low on clean clothes. I can't say enough about Andy and his attention to detail in making us as comfortable as possible. Coming back from a long day of exploring to a clean room and Andy's signature smile is something our group will sorely miss. I also heard him singing and that guy has the voice of an angel! This place is amazing and Andy's #1.

Marco is an excellent host and Made, who manages the house, was very welcoming and attentive throughout the whole stay. The staff helped us organizing a driver, a scooter, a cooking class and a bycicle trip and they offered their help wherever they could. The villa is great – Balinese sytle, very clean and cosy with a very nice pool in the middle of some beautiful rice terraces and perfect for a small group or family. To get around you need a scooter or local transport as there is not much nearby but a small (good) Warung but breakfast is included and Ubud a 10 min drive. Thanks again for having us! Marc & family

Rumah Capung is a superb villa in Ubud. It has a great atmosphere with the rice fields on all sides, the antique joglos and excellent landscaping and lighting. The villa is about 10-15 mins away from central Ubud and I recommend either having a car available or rent motorbikes, the road is not really walkable (distance and traffic are not your friends). Breakfast made by the boys is a real treat! There is no kitchen so you will need to eat out or order in, the options for ordering in are less than great. There are a couple of Warungs within walking distance, which were OK, but not amazing. The pool and the bale are the social hub of the villa since there is no covered/closed common area -- each of the joglos are bedrooms. When it is pouring rain, there are not many choices about where to spend your time as a group. The villa manager, Made, is amazing. He is always available. Get his (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) info as soon as you reserve and communicate with him on the arrangements for pretty much anything. We skipped all of the tourist offices selling activities and had Made make the plans -- they were almost always cheaper than what I saw on boards all over Ubud. He came in to the villa often in the mornings and checked up on things and let us know about staffing changes (rotations) and what to expect. Finally, if you are wondering whether the pictures are indicative of the real thing, the real thing is better. I was concerned that I was seeing professionally cropped images and that I would be disappointed, but no, I was elated the real thing was better the pictures! Enjoy Rumah Capung!

The villa was beautiful and shared good views of rice fields. The manager Made came to see us in the following day and helped us find a way to hang the clothes outside. The two waiters were also friendly and helpful. They even helped to prepare two bowls of porridge upon request. There was a restuarant Paddi Organic and the mom and daughter cooked good meals for us. The villa was clean and the pavilion was also good enough to relax there while enjoying the welcome orange juice and the amazing rice fields. Our children tossed off the table there and broke two glasses, but we were not asked to refund. Everything was good only a small incident. My wife was stinged by a hornet on her finger when we came back at night. We were frightened as we did not expect it and had no idea whether the sting was poisnous and harmful. After aligning with the waters and manager Mr. Made, they finally called a cab and sent us to Ubud Care for treatment. Luckily, it was not a dangerous sting. And appreciated for what Made and his crew did to solve the problem including paying the cab as well as the fee to see the doctor. Even if experiencing the unexpected incident, I still highly recommend this villa to visitors without any hesitation. The only advice is that it would be better if we could have been alerted in advance at the possible danger of the insects there. The another regret is that we only stayed for two nights there, we hoped we could have stsyed longer.

We had an incredible time here. We were 2 families plus our mum and it was absolutely perfect. Picturesque location, stunning rooms, very pleasant and helpful staff available at all times. Breakfast was provided and we were able to order other meals from a nearby restaurant. My only regret is that we did not stay longer!!

Beautiful setting, rooms are great, outdoor bathroom and showers were an amazing experience, staff was around 24x7 and was terrific. Located on a bend in the road so some in our party noticed the sound of cars coming around the corner but they got used to it quickly. Overall, a very good and very pleasant experience.

Marco's home was a delight. We are exactly looking for a resort like place, close to nature kind of experience in Ubud and Marco's home did full justice to what we wanted. Coming from a super urban city like Bombay, our stay in Ubud was intended to be away from the commercial places, so that we could enjoy the mornings and late evenings in a quiet, close to nature place - and also because we were heading to Semniyak after which would fulfill our city and hustle-bustle cravings anyway :) Marco's house literally grows on you - with every passing day you enjoy the place even more. The natural, heritage feel of the villa along with being very well kept is a huge high. The staff at the villa, is one of the best i have ever experienced - Andy and his friend were a delight. They were so prompt, and available with the smile every time we left or entered the Villa that we were almost conscious to not want to trouble them. And a hospitality compliment from an Indian is huge, given how pampered we are hospitality on our side of the world. But these two were truly amazing. Marco's home is three cottage units, with a nice plunge pool in the centre - surrounded with a small pond and greenery. Reaching the commercial monkey street in just about 10-15 minute drive. We had a super stay at Marco's villa and would high recommend his villa.
