About This Listing
This uniquely constructed Gingerbread House at the Isis Oasis Retreat Center is very cozy inside. Two can sleep downstairs and one can comfortably sleep in the loft. It is decorated with stain glass windows with LED lights inside the glass and uniquely sculpted by Miguel Elliott of Living Earth Structures. Earthen trees are wrapping around the hut making it feel as though it were being embraced by the trees. It is next to the Hobbit hut, and has a wood-fired oven outside, with a picnic table. Close access to the pool, sauna and hot tub. Tours of the exotic animals on the property available.
Just a 3 minute walk to a great café called Geyserville Mud, and a 10 minute walk to the river.
There is a bus stop right outside the property for easy access to public transit.
Come ready for an Earthen adventure!
No smoking indoors
The Fairy-tale Gingerbread house is one of the rarest gems hidden in Sonama county. The Isis Oasis retreat is a magical place to relax, eat, and enjoy nature. Our host, DeTraci, is one of the nicest person you will ever meet. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
I enjoyed the privacy. Had to cut trip short. But if you want a unique stay this is it!
We had a great stay at the Gingerbread house. Isis Oasis is an unique experience and interesting place. I met DeTraci briefly and she was quite friendly and welcoming. We will love to go back again.
The Isis resort is certainly a unique place. Fantastic animals (gorgeous colored pheasants!) and caring, supportive staff. Everyone was super-friendly and polite.
The Gingerbread House was as described. It's quite small, and barely has room for keeping luggage. Secluded and picturesque. Expect lots of spiders and bugs, since this is a well-preserved natural place.
Bathroom was a short walk, as described. Shower was an open-roof enclosure - had nice warm water though.
This was quite the place. The gingerbread house is what makes AirBnB, AirBnB.
My girlfriend came to Geyserville on a business trip so I surprised her with this cute place. The gingerbread house is really intimate making it ideal for couples.
The gingerbread house has exotic birds and wild cats on the site making for memorable experiences.
The only issue that I could see people having with this space is that almost on the verge for camping for city folk. If the idea of camping is not your thing, I highly recommend the other rooms that that are hosted as this is not a place that you want to pass up!
Would definitely return!!
The Gingerbread House is adorable, cozy, and rustic. A departure from the ordinary in a beautiful setting! We loved learning about all of the animals at the sanctuary --especially the exotic cats! and loved relaxing in the hot tub! The residents and staff at the center were friendly and welcoming.

About the Host, DeTraci
I'm the director of the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, a beautiful and magical retreat center and lodge in the heart of the Alexander Valley wine country in Sonoma County.I worked very closely with Loreon Vigne, who owned the Retreat Center for 35 years, and who unfortunately recently passed away. She was a San Franciscan where she created a line of giftware and jewelry and came to the country to retire in 1978 on a 10 acre plot of land in beautiful Alexander Valley. She spent this time creating art and beauty on her property which has a number of interesting buildings of historic significance including a 600 year old heritage tree. She dedicated the land to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis, otherwise known as Mother Earth. Instead of retiring, She used her time making her property a living art project. We are a non-profit organization housing exotic cats and birds of many species including a vivarium of interesting insects and small reptiles. There is also an art gallery for her artwork on the property as well as a gift bazaar offering ancient Egyptian altar pieces. There is a permaculture garden and labyrinth on the property to enjoy. We have a pool and spa, Isis meditation temple and a redwood walled theater where concerts/plays/films are showcased, plus some cob structures built of local earth by Miguel Elliott. Please come and visit us at our unique peaceful sanctuary...I look forward to meeting you.
