We have very good knowledge of the city and can recommend some really great bars, restaurants, museums etc. etc.
Just let us know what you are interested in doing and seeing and I am sure we will be able to help you.
Including loads of great places you'd never find without local knowledge.
Poble Sec has everything you could want, there are so many great bars and restaurants withing a few minutes walk.
It really is an excellent and friendly neighbourhood.
On Carrer Blai there are many tapas bars, one of our favourites is Blai Tonight where they have a great selection of fresh Montiditos (Pinchos) for 1€ (1.20€ on the terrace) just take a plate from the bar and help yourselves remembering to keep the sticks so the waiter can work out how much to charge you.
La Rambla is a 15 minute walk and El Gotico is about a 20 minute walk.
The beautiful park of Montjuic is literally on our doorstep and is a really beautiful place to go for a walk or have a picnic.
Paral-lel metro station (L2 and L3) is a couple of minutes walk and there are numerous bus services running along Paral-lel including the night bus.
Sagrada Famillia is on L2 (20 minutes) and Park Guell is on L3 (25 minutes) and Passeig de Gracia where you'll find Casa Batllo and La Pedrera is also on L2.
You can walk to the beach in about 30 minutes or you can take the bus from Paral-lel.
Metro L2 and L3 - 200 metres away.
Buses and taxis on Avingunda Paral-lel.
A 15 minute walk into the city centre for La Rambla etc. etc.

We had a great time in Barcelona! The apartment is very well situated, near a metro station, restaurants and boutiques.
Thank you Mark for you help and kindness!

Mark had great communication leading up to our arrival. Once there Mark spent a lot of time visiting with us and pointing out great things to do in the neighborhood. His help in that regard was invaluable. Also he had lots of good tips in general about moving through Barcelona. He allowed us to keep our bags at his place when we flew to Fez, which was incredibly helpful. He was a lot of fun and was truly interested in our trip. Very warm and inviting apartment to stay at. Very clean.
We are so happy you enjoyed your time here in Barcelona and also your trip to Fez, I am certainly going to visit there soon since hearing all about it.
We hope we will see you next time you come to Barcelona and you are always most welcome here in our home.
Mark and Francois.
Mark was incredibly welcoming and gracious! Unfortunately, François was away on holiday, so we didn't get a chance to meet them. The room was small, but we spent very little time in it so that wasn't a problem. The area is much quieter than many other places in Barcelona. It was also a very safe area to walk around, less tourists=less pickpockets. It is also about 15 min walking distance from a bunch of major locations in Barcelona. My recommendation for future visitors is to pack light. The room was too small to fit our bags, so we left them in the hall, which was ok, but there also isn't a lift in the building, so we had to lug our heavy bags all the way up to the 4th floor. Again, this was more a lack of skillful packing than a problem with the location. Mark was a wonderful host and I would highly recommend this Airbnb location.
Thanks for the review.
We love hosting airbnb guests and have met some great people form all over the world.
We think Poble Sec is a really great area in which to live and are very happy that you enjoyed it too.
Hopefully we will see you again next time you visit Europe.
And thanks for the recommendation!
See you next time you are in Barcelona.
I am always happy to help carry bags up to the apartment!
Thanks to Mark and Francois. We had a great time in Barcelona. The room could be a bit small for 2 people especially if you bring large backpacks or suitcases. Other than that the location is fantastic really close to 2 metro lines that can take you to many Barcelona main attractions. Also close are many tapas bars park etc. Mark and Francois are quite friendly and gave us some advice on places to visit.
We had a very good time at Mark's place. He gave us a warm welcome and made us feel like at home. The room is clean and bright. We like the neighbourhood as it offers many bars and restaurants (tapas, italian, indian, etc.). At the same time, it is quieter than some over-rated touristic areas such Barrio Gotico or El Born. Overall, a perfect place and good value for money where to stay for a few days in Barcelona.
The flat is located close to the metro, a number of tapas & pinchos bars and the Montjuic - great place for a morning run! Mark & Francois truly made us feel at home, trusting us with the flat and giving valuable tips about Barcelona. We enjoyed our visit and would always chose these hosts again! Merci, gracias, cheers!
It was a great week-end in Mark and Francois apartment during Barcelona Marathon. Perfect location and very nice host who are willing to give you very good tips about the city and tapas bar...I could only recommend this five stars room !
We are two friendly, relaxed and easy going guys who have been living in this fantastic city of Barcelona for almost 3 years.
Before moving to the Barcelona we lived for 18 years in Edinburgh where Francois owned language school and I worked as a television editor.
We love hosting on airbnb and we love traveling and have met some great people and made friends the world over.
Hopefully you will choose to stay with us and we look forward to giving you a warm welcome.
If there is anything you want to know about us, our apartment, our neighborhood or Barcelona then please feel free to ask?
