There are 2 queens, one double and one twin bed in this 2 room Suite. The bathroom has 2 sinks, shower, tub and toilet with a large supply of thick, plush towels. Waimea is a wonderful location on the Big Island. It is 15 minutes to the beautiful white sand beaches of the Kohala Coast, one hour to Hilo, one hour to down town Kona and close to gorgeous hikes like the Waipio Valley and Pololu Valley. There are close harbor departures for snorkeling, fishing and kayaking tours.

Waimea town has 13 restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining, grocery stores, health food stores, post office, gas stations, banks, shops, galleries and more, all just 3 miles from our B&B.

We are the number one rated B&B in TripAdvisor's Popularity Index for this area and have one the Best of North Hawaii for the past two years!

Guest Access

Beach chairs, boogie boards, beach mats and snorkel gear are available in our Guest Gear area. There is also a large deck with tables and chairs that is open to guests from 10 am to 6pm.

Interaction with Guests

We are available to answer questions about your travels and make sure you have what you need to enjoy your time in paradise, however, your room is stocked with pretty much everything we think you will need. If you like to keep to yourselves, you will have no problem doing that at Aaah the Views....

The Neighborhood

Waimea is a wonderful town with shops, galleries, restaurants, and useful places like gas stations, banks, a post office, library and more. Our neighborhood is just 2.5 miles from town but because we back up against thousands of acres of open space, you feel like you are far away from it all. :)

Getting around

There is public transportation but it is limited and difficult to use if you are traveling with heavy luggage.

Other Things to Note

A lovely continental breakfast is included in the rate. A selection of muffins from our favorite local bakery Mamane, yogurt, granola, papaya, milk, coffee and tea are placed in your kitchenette for you to enjoy at your leisure and is replenished as needed.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Well - the views are simply spectacular, and as we stayed in 2 different rooms (treetop suite and dream room), we can affirm this for both of them.

The breakfast is left in your fridge, so you can choose when to have - very convenient if you got home late after stargazing on Mt. Kea and need a lie in.

Erica is a very welcoming and helpful host. She can provide you with very good recommendations for nice restaurants and the best beaches. You may borrow any kind of beach gear you might need - including body boards and snorkelling equipment - so don't bother schlepping all this stuff with you on the plane ....

  • Our stay at the Treetop Suite in Kamuela was "no ka oi" - the best! Erika made a first rate breakfast every morning with Papaya, Pineapple, guava juice, a variety of quiches, oatmeal, banana bread, pumpkin bread, coconut bread and much more. We enjoyed her insights, recommendations and suggestions as to where to eat, what to see and do and her pleasant company each morning. The rooms have excellent views and are neat, clean and comfortable with extra towels, walk-in closets and robes. All-in-all just a wonderful place to stay in the Waimea area and a terrific hostess!

  • Erika really makes this lovely b&b special! We arrived tired and somewhat underprepared for our Hawaii vacation, with some ideas on the activities in this area and Erika set us right and even made the calls to make the reservations for us. We had the top floor 'suite' with adorable bunker beds that our kids absolutely loved!

Each morning, she would guide us with her treasure of local knowledge over a wonderful breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay, and our conversations with her and the other guests. We would definitely come back!

  • If you have a sense of adventure, you'll love this place. It's at the tree-tops level in a wind-swept little town in the middle of Parker Ranch country, at an elevation of the Big Island that affords amazing views and cool temperatures. For star-gazers at Mauna Kea observatory (just about an hour drive away), this is just about your closest option. Head in the other direction and try out Pololu Valley trail: a steep but short hike that takes you down to a spectacular (but unswimmable) beachfront in a secluded green valley. The b&b itself is cozy and a great place to come home to. Open the windows and the shades for the view and the wind; close them to be snug. I chose to sleep in the loft bed in the Sunset Room, for the window at my head that I left open constantly. The contrast between the cold wind and the warm comforter was exhilarating: it was like camping in the comforts of home. And Erika is a great host: responsive, supportive, and provider of a wonderful breakfast! I look forward to another vacation in the future at "Aaah the Views!"

  • We enjoyed our stay very much although I didn't know what to expect before getting there. This is our first experience using Airbnb. Erika is a great host - she prepared excellent breakfasts everyday with fresh fruits and quiche. Indeed there is a seasonal stream in front of the breakfast deck. It had lots of water one day and created a soothing sound for a good night sleep.

We stayed in Treetop suite which comprises of the Sunset Room and the Stream Room, both of which has a loft. My boys loved them. The WI-FI signal was stronger in the Sunset room.

Erika also walked the extra mile helping us with beach gear. It would be impossible for us to go to Mauna Kea Summit without the jackets and gloves she kindly provided.

Overall, we had a great time at Aaah the Views. Thanks, Erika!
