Casual, Contemporary Comfort within an easy 4 miles to Mount Holyoke and Hampshire Colleges, and the MacDuffie School

The Space

Our home in Granby is close (4 miles) to Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley as well as Hampshire College in South Amherst (4 miles), and within 3 miles of the MacDuffie School in Granby, and provides easy access to the other colleges in the 5-college area (U of Mass, Amherst and Smith).

This contemporary home not only offers comfortable and convenient accommodations, but lovely views of a meandering brook with its inherent birdlife. Maple trees abound. The Pioneer Valley is a wonderful mix of outdoor recreation, historical sites, great restaurants, and much more. Hiking trails are very nearby.

There are two rooms: THIS ONE: a charming room with queen bed, arched window and cozy window seat affords a view of a farm field across the street. Central air-conditioning and ceiling fans. The bathroom is yours alone if the other room is not rented. Plus there is a half-bath on the main floor.

THE OTHER ROOM (under a separate listing: (phone number hidden)) is a pleasant and modern room with two twin beds and computer desk.

Enjoy a continental breakfast of fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, coffee/tea along with what has been called "a million-dollar view!" There may be a hot dish for those staying a few nights.

Rooms are on 2nd floor. Non-smoking. No children under 12. No pets.

  • The Brooke B&B was WONDERFUL!

Linda and her husband (whose name we didn't actually get) were lovely hosts. The room was clean and quiet. Make sure you ask for recommendations for food and shopping as their recommendations were amazing. The included breakfast was also nice. I highly recommend staying here for anyone looking to stay in the area, and will definitely stay again on my next trip to Western Mass.

  • Lovely, lovely, lovely. The bucolic view from the kitchen window alone is enough to make me want to stay there again and again. Linda showed us unwavering graciousness even as we filed in and out (and in and out and in and out) countless times a day over the course of graduation weekend. We felt right at home and perfectly welcomed. The rooms are even cozier than the pictures appear and it was the ideal retreat from the non-stop commotion of the weekend. I could not be more pleased. Thank you, Linda!

Thank you, Sondra, for your kind words. Ethan was a delight....hope he is able to get back to dancing soon, and hope your daughter has a great summer!

  • We spent a peaceful overnight and morning at this lovely country home that is within easy distance of Mt. Holyoke College. The room and bath were immaculate, and the expansive downstairs spaces overlook an incredible view with meandering brook. Linda was warm, welcoming, and very accommodating. A lovely, delightful place!

  • This is a lovely home in a bucolic setting. My room was immaculate, very comfortable, and peacefully quiet. The bathroom was ideal and the unanticipated breakfast was delicious and conversational. The hosts are lovely people. I would stay there again and recommend it to any parents visiting their college students or others on vacation.

Recent retirement has sparked interest in hosting and sharing this lovely home. We moved to this bucolic setting 3 years ago. While enjoying the quiet and beauty it affords, staying active and connected is important. Linda enjoys yoga, workouts with friends, live music and dancing, art movies and shopping. All can be easily accessed within a few miles. Wesley still works and in his spare time, stays active running, imbibing in craft beer, and doing the outside chores. We have many years-worth of knowledge about "the valley" and are happy to share!
