Where are we located exactly? - well we sure wish (website hidden) Maps could figure that out as well. We are 35 minutes from the El Paso airport, 15 minutes from the NW part of El Paso, (I-10 & Exit 8.) We are in NM between Santa Teresa and La Union, sitting high on a mesa overlooking the valley of the Rio Grande River with 3 mountain ranges in view from the back patio. We are located on the edge of open desert, with hiking and horseback riding available just outside the door. • This is a wonderful B&B. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Well worth the short drive on a dirt road. Marlene was very helpful with information.

  • Marlene was a wonderful hostess. She pointed us in the right direction for dinner and provided us with some insight into the surrounding countryside. In the morning, she made eggs with salsa verde and set out a beautiful fruit plate.

Because it's off the beaten path, there is no light pollution, so the stars come out brilliantly at night. From the patio, you can see the point where Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico meet. It is secluded and quite peaceful.

The room we stayed in was very comfortable for three people.

The next time I'm passing through El Paso, I will definitely be back.

  • This is a great out-of-the-way place with a fantastic view. Our room was beautifully furnished with lots of great details. Marlene was an excellent host, we had a great time chatting with her over breakfast. Highly recommended!

    Response from Marlene:

Great to hear that Edward. See ya next year.

  • Marlene offers a wonderful place to stay while visiting El Paso. Everything is excellent, including the dog "Peanut". The location is really good if you want close enough access to the city for visiting but still want a place to be able to walk in the desert--it offers the best of both worlds. It's very quiet, as well. Great place! Great host!

    Response from Marlene:

Mariel, Peanut says thanks for the extra walk! I bet it was a bit chilly at home when you got there. I enjoyed having you stay!!!!

  • Casa de Suenos is lovely! All of the amenities of a hotel with the uniqueness B&bers love! Very "southwest," off the beaten track without being inconvenient and something yummy and homemade for breakfast (out of this world banana bread)! We wish we could have stayed longer and are grateful for the dog-friendly and people-friendly stay! Thanks, Marlene!

Gabor, I was so glad that you were able to come back on your way home. It was good to see you three again in a relatively short time.

  • Great property. Lots of space and privacy and hostess was very helpful.

  • My very first AirBNB experience could not have been any more pleasant. Marlene's house is as warm and inviting as she is. After a long day on the road, her beautiful, quiet, relaxing home was everything I needed and more than I hoped for. Thank you.

Casa de Suenos Country Inn
For the last 10 years, my husband and I have been running a Bed and Breakfast - Casa de Suenos, on the edge of open desert in a residential community in NM, but just outside El Paso TX. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and since I don't get to travel any more, I love hearing the stories from our guests. I maintain the house and 3 acres our B & B is built on. That is a pretty full time job, but I enjoy making the grounds a true desert experience for our guests. In terms of guests, we have had the most wonderful guests at our B & B. We are pretty laid back and live in a quiet residential area in the middle of the desert. We appreciate guests who like to connect with nature, are respectful of mother earth and appreciate the quiet of the desert.
