About this listing
Charming Amsterdam! A beautiful city to discover. It's an old town en has a rich history; you'll find dutch culture, many exceptional places to see and events happening in town. Feel the dazzling vibe of Amsterdam!
I live for many years in the city and love to tell you about all the good places to visit. My apartment is in the north of town; an upcoming and creative part of Amsterdam, which has a fast connection to the city centre (10 minutes).
I offer a 70 mtr.2 clean, spacious, modern apartment. It's a cozy designed place with a beautiful living.
In the fully equipped kitchen you'll find everything to make yourself a nice meal if you're not eating out.
Seperate bedroom (double boxspring bed, size160-200) with bathroom, this has a big size shower.
Towels and nice fresh sheets.
On request use of washer & dryer.
My house is located in the north of the city, near a park, close to the NDSM terrain. As a former shipyard this is a unique part of town where you can find nice restaurants and hangouts, shopping, art and great (music) events. You'll also find the Eye filmmuseum at this side of town.
By bus you'll be in 10 minutes in the city centre at Central Station. From here you'll get quickly to the Dam Square, Jordaan, Vondelpark, red light district and museum area.
Seen the urban city and wanna experience the country side of Amsterdam? Visit picturesque Volendam, Holysloot or for example Durgerdam, and refresh body & mind at the IJsselmeer.
Shopping centre Buikslotermeerplein is a 200 mtr walk from the apartment, there are many shops and supermarkets in the neighbourhood, open untill 21h.
There are some good places i can recommend for cheap and healthy breakfast or dinner (Thaifood, typical Dutch, Arabic, sushi, organic food, KFC, Chinese, etc).
Next to my frontdoor you'll find the busstop; every 10 minutes bus 33 takes you in 10 minutes to the Central Station.
You can also get bus 32 or 34. Nightbus number 361 too stops in front of the house.
Another way is to explore the city by bike, feel free to use mine for a nice ride to one of the 5 ferry's. The ferry's are all free and cross the river IJ all day & night to get you into town or back 24/7. For more bikes, there's a bike rental for €13,- a day, about 5 minutes from the apartment.
You can get to all parts of the city easily.
If you travel by plane, it's easy to come by train to the Central Station, then take bus 33 (stop at Halte Bakkerswaal).
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to mail me.
No Smoking, only on the balcony. No drugs. No exeptions at this.
To get you started I'll welcome you with some real good coffee, tea, and a bottle of wine.
If you lose the key, it will cost €25,-
Please respect the nightrest of our neighbours.
If there's a problem, let me know! We can solve it.
My mum and me had a great time in Mirjams place. She was so helpful and sweet, made a great list with a lot of tips and we felt very welcomed at our stay.
The apartment is not in the Central of Amsterdam bur with the bus its a short trip (10-15 min) to the main area.
The flat looks even more beautiful in live as on the picture, the walls are in a dark, warm color and the whole atmosphere is very charming and cosy. We were very happy to choose this apartment.
Great experience, actually, best experience on airbnb so far.
We felt very welcome and taken care of. Mirjam really does her best and this is reflected in all details. Good to know: the walls are now painted in dark chocolate colour, which makes it even cosier than on the pictures.
We spent 4 wonderful days of April in Amsterdam. We were so happy, it's very beautiful, romantic and stylish flat. All was clear and comfortable. Perfect place for relaxing after visiting of city. Its pretty close to central, just 15 min by bus, which going every 6 min. If you want to walk a little, you can go 30 min till ship-station and across by ship Lake and get also to center absolutely for free. Mirjam is so nice and polite person. She was so friendly and met us so kindly and pleasantly, she showed us everything that we need for comfortable living. We would love to back and stay there again. Thanks a lot!
We are a young couple, we was in Amsterdam 3 days and the apartment was fabulous.
All was very clean and beautiful, is very close to the supermarket, and the communication with the city centre was very easy and fast with bus.
It's a perfect place to rest after a day in Amsterdam, and it's possible go from city centre to take a break, the kitchen it's very equipped.
The hostess, Mirjam, it's very nice and had everything ready for our arrival.
We are very happy with choosing this apartment.
we (me and my girlfriend) have been a week at mirjam place, the apartment is great, acctually looks better then in the pictures.
mirjam met us very late at night, at 1:00 am. she was lovely and was so patient with us, showing us everything need to be showen at the house and giving us vital information about things she recommand us to see in amsterdam, and thing we need to know about the neigberhood.
the house is great, with high quality kitchen appliances so you can cook a lot.
there is great couch in the living room, cable t.v, wireless internet and everything you need. it was wonderfull coming home after long days in amsterdam center.
the apartment is not in central amsterdam but in a north neighborhood, 10 minutes in a bus no. 33 the comes every 10 minutes so its not a big deal, acctually for us it was better to go and live a quiet area away from all the busy and noise of the city center.
the neighborhood is great, went few time late at night, and its feel good, no problems there. few minutes of walking and you have a shopping area, with big supermarket and other shops
we realy recommand mirjam place!!!
We had a wonderful weekend in Amsterdam. Mirjam welcomed us with a coffee, showed us around in the apartment and gave us a few really good tips for restaurants, nice places to visit etc. From the first minute we felt very much at home.
The apartment itself was really nice: Spacious, very clean, tasteful furnishing, fully equipped kitchen and a balcony where we could have breakfast every morning. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on! The apartment is located north of the city center but with the bus or a bike you'll be in the city center in about 10-15 min. The buses run every couple of minutes during the day and about every hour during the whole night. If you go by bike there is a really nice cycle way to the ferry station. There you can catch a ferry free of charge to the city center. If you come by car there is a cheap car park directly in front of the house.
All in all we had an awesome time at Mirjam's place. We would definitely come back and we would highly recommend her place to everybody.
We had an amazing time staying in Amsterdam. Mirjam is very nice, gives helpful advices, is well aware of the things to do in the neighborhood and the city in general. Mirjam's place is very romantic, clean, spacious and restful. The apartment is well-located, not to close to the more noisy center, but not too far from all the interesting places as well. Just 10 minutes by bus to the city center. Neighborhood is very peaceful and green. This was our first airbnb experience and we absolutely loved it. We would love to come and stay again!
About the Host, Mirjam
LANGUAGE: English, Deutsch, Nederlands
WORK: Interior design projectmanager
ABOUT ME: Hi, I'm your host, Mirjam. As a guest I started to use airbnb about two years ago in 2013. It was such a good experience for me that I decided to start renting my own apartment at airbnb beacuse i'm travelling on a regular basis for my job.
I offer a modern cosy apartment near the centre of Amsterdam. A relative new and upcoming part of town at the IJ river, near a park, station, fast 10 minute connection to the city with many bus- and tram options. I live in a nice, modern building. In daily life I work as a manager on interior design projects. I like to work with creative people and the artists of craftsmanship. As I lived many years in the city now, I like to share the nice spots (not only touristic!) in Amsterdam. We have a rich history, beautiful canals (have a boattrip!) with the characteristic houses from the 17th century. But also many modern and special shops like in the 9 Streets, the area which the city of Amsterdam is built on. Many restaurants and cafès... Musea, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, the Anne Frank House. The new Eye filmmuseum. So much to see & things to experience!
