About This Listing
Apartment, 55 sqm. with balcony, cozy even for families with children, supplied with some toys and games.
Near the house there is a park with outdoor swimming pool!
The apartment is in the multiethnic area of the city just outside the city center, in a district with all amenities.
Just below the house there is a cafe-tobacco shop with tables equipped with everything, a supermarket and the 557-bus stop that in 5 minutes takes you to the Metro-line "A" that runs through the center town up to the Vatican.
The apartment is in a green quiet residential complex with doorman and availability of controlled and covered parking (not very big).
The apartment has a living room with sofa bed (new for those who have already been a guest!) large1,50mt.-2persons, a large bedroom with 4 beds (1 double bed + bunk bed), bathroom, usable kitchen-dinning room with balcony.
The house is equipped with everything you need for sleeping, washing and cooking.
The apartment is all for you.
This is a house, not a hotel, so I want to be clear about the fact that, as in many homes, some things may not be perfect or not standardized.
To avoid surprises, I would tell even things that may not work well for some of you:
-The doorbell of the house does not currently work.
-heating is communal, so it works only from autumn to early spring, but there is an electric heater available for any need.
-in bathroom, the ceiling is a little spoiled in a point due to a damage of the tenant of the upper floor.
-the water heater is not large, so if you plan to use a lot of hot water must then wait for it to recharge.
There is internet WiFi flat.
Location and connections:
The "house of Martha" (55 square metres), on the edge of the center of Rome and facing the archaeological site of Alessandrino Aqueduct (third century AC), allows easy access to all the most important historical sites and monuments of Ancient Rome
(just downstairs the apartment you find the Bus557 terminus-stop that takes you in 5 minutes to the Metro line-A station: it crosses all the historical center of the town up to Vatican Church; otherwise on Casilina street you can take bus 105 or a small urban surface-train "Laziali" up to Termini station in the center of the town),
as well as to enjoy the many parks of historic, scenic and recreational interest:
*300m. Villa De Sanctis: jogging and open air swimmingpool
*1,0km. Parco Tor Fiscale - Ancient Roman (website hidden) Felice.
*2,0km. Parco degli Acquedotti - Archeological park of Appia Antica.
*1,5km. Parco della Caffarella – Archeological park of Appia Antica.
I make bread at home with natural sourdough and I love to use the bike to move.
if the weather will be good we can arrange town-tours by bike organizing ourselves in time to rent bikes; we can go from home up to the center of the town biking through the parks of Appia Antica: a different point of view!
The whole house is available
The apartment is in the multi-ethnic neighborhood, on the edge of downtown, with all services.
Just below the house there is a bar-tobacco provided with tables outside, a supermarket and the bus stop 557 that,in 5 minutes, takes you to the Metro-line "A" that runs through the center until the Vatican.
Also, not far from the apartment, on saturday and sunday you can visit the "Catacombs of St. Marcellinus at Duas Lauros": The Catacombs cover an area of 18,000 square meters.
Public transports to the center city:
-bus557 (just below the house) in 5 minutes arrives to the Metro "A" which runs through the center going trough Termini (train station) until the Vatican.
-bus105: on Casilina street, arrives at Termini Station in 15 minutes. Cross the trambus that goes to the Colosseum.
-urban train "Laziali" on Casilina street, arrives at Termini Station in 15 minutes. Cross the trambus that goes to the Colosseum. At the end of the line is the terminus of the bus70 that arrives in Piazza Navona.
There is a covered private car park inside the complex.
Just like in the world, you will find what those before you have left, and those after you will find what you left them.
Cherish the house to make it "home" and be gentle with the objects.
the small park that connects home with via di Torpignattara - here you'll find a playground for childrens
It is true, Roberto is a very kind host! It was good to arrive, he was explaining everything verywell, how to travel, where to shop, etc. As we were arriving late he even waited us with fresh bread, tomates, pasta and pesto. The flat is clean and tidy just like in the photos.
Roberto was great. He gave us get tips for traveling around the area and buying the things we need when we arrived. The cafe/bar downstairs had bus tickets and was even able to get us cash from our debit cards at a reasonable rate. There's a supermarket nearby and a 24-hr snack vending area right downstairs too. It is a bit far from the tourist stuff in the city, but manageable. You might not want to travel back and forth several times a day, but getting there and back once a day was ok. Rome has Uber and we were even able to get an Uber once from the apartment. The kitchen was so great to have and is fully stocked with everything you need. Roberto even left us fresh bread, pasta, sauce, cereal, etc. It was nice not having to grocery shop the first day we got there. :) Overall, great experience. Wish we could have stayed longer. :)
My boyfriend and I stayed here for four days and we really enjoyed our time in Rome. We checked in very late (around 1am) but Roberto greeted us very warmly to his place and even gave us a quick overview of what we can do in Rome. The place was very clean and too big for just the two of us to use. The transportation to the main city site is very good (train and bus stops are within 10min walking distance). The neighbourhood is very nice with a park right in front of the apartment and a small store downstairs where you can buy basic things. The shower tube broke at one point but Roberto came by (he lives next door) and replaced it very soon. I'd recommend the place for families with small children but it's perfect for any kind of people who want to be in a local Italian neighbourhood:)
Roberto is a wonderful host. He kindly picked us up from the metro station and then took us out for coffee and a croissant, as well as explaining how to get the bus etc... to the city. He also gave us many other insights on great things to do in Rome such as bike along the Appian Way which we did and enjoyed immensely. The apartment is a 10 minute walk from the bus line into Termini and a 15 minute walk to the metro. The wifi was good and the amenities in the area were great. We highly recommend Roberto's apartment for a stay in Rome.
We are very happy about our trip. Rome is so beautiful and Romantic. Roberto was so kind and helpful during our 2 days. The appartment have a good localisation (bus/little train and metro). We find what we need inside and it's clean. The only thing it's the two double bed.. No very good but the two little one were cool. Thank again to Roberto !

About the Host, Roberto
Sometimes I make home-made barley bread in south Italy style (I'll let you taste if you want) and when is possible I use the bike as a means of transport and for tours through the parks of ancient roman Appian Way (I'm tour leader of a bike rental near the Colosseum for the tour of Appia Antica).
Music? reggae and beyond.
Honesty and respect I consider fundamental.
