The apartment is a very comfortable private apartment close to the old harbor, just 950m from the city center. Free street parking directly in front of the house.
The space
The apartment is on the third floor (no lift). The house is in front of a primary school which I love because it is so alive when the children go out to play. The school started at 08:30 and you might hear the bell ringing and children and parents coming to school.
Guest access
The entire apartment is exclusively for you. You can use the kitchen as you please but please, don't cook fish. We have really bad experiences when the guests have done so. Nobody likes to arrive at a place that smells fishy.

The bed is 140 X 200 cm and the sofa bed is 140 X 200 cm.

The apartment is located in a residential neighborhood in the old harbor area and an easy stroll to the city center. It is only 950 meters from the city center itself and the areas numerous attractions. Close to our place are four museums: Maritime, Saga, Northern Lights and Whale's museum: There are couples of coffee shops and a newest ice cream shop (Italian ice) in Reykjavík. It is very close to the harbor and the city center. Everything is very close from our place so the best way to travel around our neighborhood is by foot or bike. But the Bus Terminal is just ca. 25 min. walking from our place. This is a university area and very well located. We have being in this neighborhood since I came to Iceland and we have so many friends here that it is like living in a small town. Our daughter's school is just across the road and the next sport club just 5 min by walk. Swimming pool, supermarkets, library, museums, good schools, university. We love to leave in this place. We are very close to the Grandi harbour area which just recently was limited to anything “fishy.”. However, over the past couple of years, the area has evolved into a fantastic conglomeration of restaurants, shops, museums and IT businesses, as well as fishing boats and baiting huts. Grandi is literally teeming with life. There are small fishing boats regularly coming in to harbor to land their catch; and then there´s the dry dock where bigger trawlers are being repaired. The scenery isn't half bad either— there´s the panoramic view out over Faxaflói bay and Mount Esja rises majestically in the distance. The invigorating smell of the sea, the views, eateries, boutiques, cultural activities, and the hustle and bustle of this fashionable part of town make it an ideal place for a leisurely stroll.
