River's Edge Retreat is a peaceful 2-bed, 1-bath cabin on the Shenandoah River. A true no-frills escape, it’s perfect for fishing, swimming, and unwinding. Relax in the hammock, cast a line in the river’s best fishing hole, or enjoy evenings by the fire pit. Simple, quiet, and surrounded by nature—this is your place to unplug and recharge.
The space
Escape to the simple beauty of nature at River's Edge Retreat, a cozy 2-bedroom, 1-bath cabin perched directly on the banks of the Shenandoah River. This no-frills hideaway is perfect for couples, solo travelers, or small groups looking to unwind, unplug, and reconnect with what matters most.
Step outside and you'll be just a few feet from one of the best fishing holes on the river—bring your rod and reel, and you might not need to move far all weekend. The calm waters in front of the cabin are also perfect for swimming, floating, or simply dipping your toes in as the river drifts by.
Back on land, you'll find all the essentials for a peaceful stay. Start your mornings with coffee in the hammock, and wind down your evenings around the fire pit under a canopy of stars. With no city lights and no distractions, the night sk y here is som ething to behold.
Inside the cabin, you'll find two comfortable bedrooms, a full bathroom, and an open living space with everything you need and nothing you don’t. This is not a luxury retreat—it’s better. It’s real. It’s simple. And it's where memories are made.
Whether you're here to fish, swim, read, rest, or just breathe deeply, River's Edge Retreat offers the kind of quiet that lingers long after you leave.
Guest access
While there is another cabin located adjacent to River's Edge Retreat, guests will enjoy full private access to the cabin, riverfront, fire pit, and hammock. The property is thoughtfully arranged to give you space to relax and enjoy your own peaceful corner of the river.
Other things to note
✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $2500 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $59 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.
To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform called Happy Guest. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.
Your guest portal includes advertisements with third-party upgrades that you may want to enhance your stay. These upgrades are optional and include:

Firewood, starter sticks, matches - various options
Early Check-In - $20/hr if available
